I have similar ones and it'll last a couple years and then almost garbage.

Stainless steel almost worthless.
You have to bring it in during winter if you get snow.
Don't put it near where rain may pool up.
Eventually the weather will allow water to seep in and corrode the cheap wires.

If you want it to last longer, I recommend not putting it straight into the ground. Have it up high to dry.

The mere design of these things are the same. It sits outside exposed to the elements; hot and cold. Then it causes it to leak through the rubber. Even if they sealed it well, it needs to breathe. Otherwise, the battery will overheat and die. So it's a flaw in its design not last long term. Why would it be? It's more profitable if you keep replacing them. Look at Mainstay's warranty. It's only 1 year! Laughable. Basically saying it can last one round of elements.

I gave a set of these to my sister up in Shaver Lake. The first snowfall killed them.

What's up with all these folks thinking that "similar" means anything in this situation? I mean there's a 99% chance a generic white labeled thing from Amazon, temu or tik tok is going to be completely incomparable. I'm not saying that these are going to be the best thing ever, but in all likelihood they will be made different, with different supplies and standards than one manufactured for Wal mart.

Couple years is good enough for me. Not everything is going to last for ever.

Someone on Slickdeals mentioned that one can spray the clear paint around such things to prolong its use.

I'm looking for CHEAP solar lights. Soft white 3500k. $2 each would be perfect but it sounds like the opinion of these is shit.
Confident the Costco standard will last years but I cannot spend $50 per light for a shared neighborhood trail I'm building.
VOLT Landscape Lighting Premium Brass 2-pack Solar Lights

Cheapest on Amazon I could find go for $1.33 for no name lights.
