You'll want it in a darker room for the best effect. If you don't have a dark room, a QLED might probably better for a brighter location.

LG, Samsung, and Sony all make very good OLEDs. This is one of those things where you really need to go to a store and experience them first hand for yourself, though, to see what you like.

BTW, the free extended warranty at Costco (and also Sam's Club, as it is the same Allstate warranty) does not cover OLED burn-in. The Best Buy extended warranty does cover it, if that makes a difference to you (though, the extended warranties are almost always not free at Best Buy unless you happen to catch a sale that includes it).

For this particular TV, the Costco/Sam's models are better than the retail ones as they have better WIFI (the retail C3 has WIFI 5, while the Costco/Sam's warehouse models come with WIFI 6).

Sony Bravia are the "best" but we are talking 2x to 3x the cost of this.

Anything with an LG panel, which also includes other companies like sony and Philips.

LG has been refining their oled panels for over a decade now.

Samsung's qd oled panels are incredible too and the researchers that discovered it I believe won nobel prizes for their discovery. It just doesn't have the level of refinement of LG, I would personally expect the LG panels to last longer.

I have a c1 from a few years ago and it's still pristine, I watch tv and play games, it's used very regularly and brightness hasn't been an issue but glare can be distracting.

Remember, the bigger the panel, the harder it is to avoid glare. These panels are just better without any lighting.

The picture quality either way is incredible, it's like we went from black and white to color all over again

Thanks for the heads up!!

I would never have even looked at this spec bc I would've just assumed it would be there.

Damn, I guess c3 it is for me.
Yeah, check the spec if ATSC 3.0 is important. After losing a patent suit, LG suspended using the ATSC 3.0 tuner in the 2024 lineup. It could be a negotiation tactic, but it sucks for consumers. I don't think any LG Cx models ever had ATSC 3.0, only LG G2

It's days like these when I wish my old 1080p 60" would crap the bed. It doesn't go above 15/20 backlight without blinking, but it was near top of the line when I got it way back when so it still looks about as good as a 1080p can.

I'm sure 65" will be a noticeable improvement, but my space can maybe fit larger. I wish 70" was a standard size.

How do OLEDs compare to plasmas in terms of lighting needs? I know they both want things to be relatively dark. Like if I've got my old Panny plasma somewhere and am happy with how it looks, will I be fine if I swap in this TV?

My reco is unless you are jonesing for 4k or HDR keep the plasma. Mine is like 10 years old now and properly calibrated it still looks perfect. I would say there is no rush the late year plasmas are golden.

I purchased it through LG using my Citi Advantage card, and Advantage eshopping which offered 4% cash back and 10 miles/dollar plus 5% coupon from LG. It came with the free wall mount installation which is valued at $149.99

The total with the 3 year extended warranty($149.99) + 6% tax came out to be $1396.48 with 13774 miles/loyalty points and $18.52 LG membership rewards

What is "Video Only" ? If its same price guessing it doesnt have the 5 yr warranty
kth14p
They're a chain of stores out here in Cali .I just got a C4 for 1299 (tax extra) including 5yr warranty with burn in coverage. And price drop protection till BF

kth14p
Yep and they have the AUA models which have updated WiFi 6E and NFC enabled magic remote same as Costco models

Costco & Sam's Club both have an Allstate 5yr Warranty, but with No burn in coverage.

Only Best Buy & Video Only have burn in coverage.

Best Buy = $300 for 5yr Warranty

I called 'Video Only' yesterday in San Rafael and inquired about the LG 65" C4. I spoke to Mike Evans who happens to be the store manager He told me it was $1299
and initially told me $100 for 5yr Warranty. Told him I was coming from almost three hours away, he said, I'll you the warranty at no charge. Said, just come in and ask
for Mike Evans.

It's a national warranty and doesn't require Allstate enrollment like at Costco and Sam's Club.

Just waiting for the person I'm buying it for to choose the C4 or G3.

Video Only is in Oregon and Washington too.

My 50" 2009 Panasonic S Series Plasma is like new in my bedroom, and I too, am waiting for it to go out before I go OLED. Does 4K look better? Yes. Enough to dump a perfectly good 1080P with perfect viewing angles? No.

My favorite of Panasonic Plasma is seeing the real skin complexion of actors in movies. One of the first movies I watched was with Jlow or Madonna
and I could actually see a small chickenpox scar that I had never seen before. Unbelievable! The picture quality is as real as it gets.

They are significantly brighter. Compare the nits.

That said if you like your plasma and are ok with the screen size then just keep running it. It's already paid for so why not? I have a 60" plasma I am still using for this reason. Looks pretty darn good and is paid for.

HI I bought a 65 inch c3 from Costco with extended warranty for 1300 and pending delivery Wednesday. I just noticed that LG C4 65 inch will be available for 1499 at Costco on Oct 23 and can be picked up same day. How big is the difference? Should i just return the c3 and get the c4?
