You'll want it in a darker room for the best effect. If you don't have a dark room, a QLED might probably better for a brighter location.

LG, Samsung, and Sony all make very good OLEDs. This is one of those things where you really need to go to a store and experience them first hand for yourself, though, to see what you like.

BTW, the free extended warranty at Costco (and also Sam's Club, as it is the same Allstate warranty) does not cover OLED burn-in. The Best Buy extended warranty does cover it, if that makes a difference to you (though, the extended warranties are almost always not free at Best Buy unless you happen to catch a sale that includes it).

For this particular TV, the Costco/Sam's models are better than the retail ones as they have better WIFI (the retail C3 has WIFI 5, while the Costco/Sam's warehouse models come with WIFI 6).

Sony Bravia are the "best" but we are talking 2x to 3x the cost of this.

Anything with an LG panel, which also includes other companies like sony and Philips.

LG has been refining their oled panels for over a decade now.

Samsung's qd oled panels are incredible too and the researchers that discovered it I believe won nobel prizes for their discovery. It just doesn't have the level of refinement of LG, I would personally expect the LG panels to last longer.

I have a c1 from a few years ago and it's still pristine, I watch tv and play games, it's used very regularly and brightness hasn't been an issue but glare can be distracting.

Remember, the bigger the panel, the harder it is to avoid glare. These panels are just better without any lighting.

The picture quality either way is incredible, it's like we went from black and white to color all over again

Lame, more burn-in FUD.

We watch a "B" series, HSN deal from way back, that is supposedly the worst for burn-in of all the LG OLEDs - I am mindful of burn-in as the previous TV, a Panny Plasma, did get a nasty Cartoon-Channel logo stuck on it - so I sort of try and not get too lost on a single image and the kids are grown. The LG TV has proven to be ultra-reliable - I have left the Tivo (Roamio) menu that sits there after a tape has ended many, many times - watched many shows with watermarks and still cannot discern any burn-in whatsoever. Plus, we use captioning 100% of the time.

My take; OLED burn-in is a NON-ISSUE unless you're using the TV as a stock ticker or playing the same game for days on end. Any warranties purchased for this fear are a waste of money.

We've had ours setup for a week now. Notice a big difference on movies and regular TV but the biggest difference is in gaming. Minecraft and fortnite is awesome on the C3.

Unless you care about gaming then LG has more HDMI 2.1 ports and lower input lag. Sony has best processing for lower quality material but LG has caught up a lot over the last few years. Samsung is behind Sony and LG in this department on their OLEDs

You are spot on. I have a room with lots of sun and a 65" QLED. A darker game room for my OLED. OLED is difficult in daylight.
I've had a 77" C3 in my living room with 3 big windows pouring in light for the last 18 months and it's never been too dim during the day. This idea doesn't hold water for most OLEDs anymore. OLED picture quality is much better than what a QLED can do

Thanks for the heads up!!

I would never have even looked at this spec bc I would've just assumed it would be there.

Damn, I guess c3 it is for me.
The C series has never had an ASTC 3.0 tuner. The G series used to but they dropped that this year on the G4. Most people don't actually use ASTC 3.0 and if you decide later you want it you can buy an external tuner

Sorry I mixed this up.

The LG 65" C3 has a built-in ATSC 1.0 tuner, but not ATSC 3.0.
ATSC 3.0 is a digital TV standard for programs broadcast in the US.

LG has suspended ATSC 3.0 compatibility in its 2024 television line-up for the United States

My 55" C1 has a bunch of burn in, it's over 5 years old though.

Good to know about the extended warranty. Thanks. BTW, how long is the warranty if I buy it from the manufacturers such as LG, Samsung directly?

One year, with options to purchase extended warranties.
