I will say, the Schecter's action was setup perfectly, the sound is great, and the heads kept everything in tune for a good while. I had never owned one before and honestly they're pretty impressive guitars.

Likewise, most acoustic/electrics have used a 9v battery in their preamp with an active pickup since Takamine introduced them in the 80's.

My only true hesitation would be missing both the neck pickup and the tone knob. I can live without one or the other but missing both is very limiting.
Still, 80% of my playing is the bridge pickup with the tone dialed up, so I think this covers a lot of ground for a lot of people.
