16awg isn't heavy duty by any means, but it'll work for some Christmas lights or an electric leaf blower.

This seems to be the going price everywhere for 16 gauge 100 ft. Woods extension cord.

"heavy duty" is referring to the physical durability of the cord, not the gauge of the wire.

Nope, its specifically talking about the gauge of the wire....
then refers to the use being medium duty

A weak leaf blower. I wouldn't have even put a leaf blower in the option but since you did I'll add a very weak leaf blower

Fyi I saw another orange 100' 16ga extension cord in the cardboard bins at the front of home Depot for $20 as well. If you're the type to want to touch it first.

Absolutely insane that they're allowed to advertise this as being suitable for 10 amps. Good for some lights and that's it - i wouldn't put more than 5A on something like this.

even better - scroll through the product images and they have yet another table showing that 16 gauge is actually 'light duty'! Hilariously advertised as all 3 simultaneously somehow

I burned out the CFI on my powerwasher because the cable was a "heavyduty" 100' 16ga. Ended up getting a (ugh) $140 12ga with a winder. Comes today.

I'd wonder if sending a AC current ...
"AC current" like a PIN number or ATM machine?

Read my above comment. When I burned out my in line CFI, I did a bit of Google and yes, the manuals say don't use powerwasher on extension cables. Since my house is wired 12ga I figured a 12 ga extension cable will work. (I will report back if intrest ), also cut the CFi off the cable and will replace with normal plug. edit. I am not making recommendations just reporting on my stupid actions. Do not do what I do, I am only providing entertainment.

edit. I am still alive. power washer works, it worked on the 100 ft 12 gauge extension cable. but as mentioned above I did cut the CFI protection out of the cable as it was faulty. I replaced the plug with a cheap Walmart $6 plug which I regret. to make it work or waterproof I used a silicone sealer where the cable goes into the plug. as a reminder this is for entertainment purposes only as I am not electrician nor do I have any experience with wiring. I'm going to shut out the 100-ft 12 gauge Craftsman branded cable that I bought, it rolled out smooth and rolled back in smooth. I hope it lasts me a long time. final edit Maybe. to be clear I cut the CFI plug off of the power washer put wire nuts on the two cables so they wouldn't touch anything and then plug it into the wall and the see if I kept tripping without any load this proved to me the CFI was dead.
