You should wax afterwards. This is a mild cutting compounds, which is intended to be used with a cutting pad. To my knowledge, you're abrading the surface to essentially move the clear coat to fill in a spot that had been damaged. After doing that, you feather out a bit, and then I usually wash my cutting pad and use it lightly with some Meguiar's wax (not the thick kind, it's liquidy and comes in a bottle just like this cutting cpd). Then I switch to a polishing foam pad and wax it all out.

I've had to do this on two different cars in three different locations. One to remove paint transfer, the other two were fixing pure scratches through the clear coat. Worked great in all cases. I recommend getting their drill attachment which introduces a random orbit action and a secondary handle for you to control it all better. I can go look up a model if anyone is interested.

I use it. Just be careful because it's gritty. Really what it is doing is rubbing the surrounding paint and clear coat into the scratch. It should not come back like previous comment suggests

I have this, and have used it a bunch of times. It works, BUT the scratch will return in a few months...its basically temporary. Compound and a buffer obviously work much better.

Ya I've used this plenty of times to clear up transfered paint and to smooth rough spots in the clear coat from door dings and shopping cart dings. It is abrasive so you want to use a little bit on just the scratch area, looks like new after.

Do you apply wax afterward? I'm planning to use it on the where the door handles area, thanks!

I don't but it would probably be a good idea.
Also if the scratches are light you may not need the Meguiars. I can clean up marks from my wife's rings with just wax and buffing.
I used it to remove some paint transfer but I tried to be very light because it can ruin a painted surface.

Hey everyone, just a heads up from someone who's tried a few different scratch removers—this product can work for getting some scratches out, but it's definitely not perfect. It struggles with plastics and gloss, so if you're working with those surfaces, you might want to think twice. And yeah, it does cause swirls—something you don't want to find out the hard way. 🌀
Personally, I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5. If you're looking for something that really delivers, I've had way better results with Meguiar's D316 DA. Just putting it out there for anyone curious or looking for better options!

Not sure how you are using it but it definitely is not temporary.

Do you use elbow grease and a microfiber to apply it or some specialty tools/pads? Im wondering if my $7 investment will actually end up being more 😂
