Hisense gets consistently high ratings on Rtings and yet is warned against on various subreddits, most of the concerns being related to QA issues with their TVs. I just recently did a relatively deep dive on mid-range QLED TV's when purchasing a TV for my grandfather and I settled on the TCL Q7 Series, which has received consistently high praise and well regarded as an excellent value across the board. It's been excellent so far. It even has a small in-built subwoofer which sounded good enough for us to skip the soundbar (trying to minimize complexity for the 96 y/o man)

All that said, if you budget is very tight and you're interested in getting into an QLED, this is probably the lowest cost of entry we've seen for a 55".

Literally just went through this debate and went with the q750g. You outlined the QC issues that I found to be concerning, but also, as this model was not on display, it's very hard to get a sense of what a sub $300 qled looks like. I'm sure it's better than regular LED, but I'm not sure I'd risk it.

I had one that was highly rated by Rtings and it lasted just over 2 years... Wouldn't power up

I've gotten to the point where most of these tvs look very good to me. I'm now just going to buy something like this and slap the $60 5 year warranty on it and be good for $340. I have a 7 year old Hisense 50 in my bedroom that has been great. Doesn't get a ton of use but I've been very happy with it for paying under $300

The biggest and most obvious is the qd6 costco is FireTv os vs Google tv os on the BB qd5.

The other biggie is Costco price includes 3 year warranty.

Personally, besides those, don't think there's much.

My impression of the Rtings review of the QD6 is they weren't impressed. They didn't do the QD5 yet, but certainly don't expect much difference. Certainly not better.

If you're not picky about the os, go with Costco, if possible, even if you're not a member.

Personally, I'm looking for a Google tv.

What warranty? It already comes with 3 years, which is enough for me. The Allstate Coverage is $35 for 3 years with some overlap that may go up to 5 years, but some bad reviews.

For $20-30 more, there are a couple of 58" TCL models I saw. Not QD6, but one is GoogleTV and the other has 2.1 sound system. I'll try to look at them in person.
