I'd had this number for 20 years, so losing it was not an option. Told the supervisor/manager/mayor mcheese that if they can't get the number back the only way this gets squared away without getting lawyers and the FCC involved is lifetime unlimted service. Surprisingly they seemed open to the idea. Should have pushed for a free yearly phone upgrade too. Haha.
Luckily, they were able to get the number back out of the pool about a day later. They said they had to work directly w Verizon network engineers and my previous provider, T-Mobile, on a couple of conference calls to do so since if it got reassigned in that time I was SOL. At least they actually steped up and fixed their mistake, seeming to take it very seriously, so I must give them credit there.
Long story short. I hope they have got their shit together nowadays. I won't touch them with a 10 foot pole again though. Good luck to those brave enough to.
No group plans, no data/tablet plans, no extra line plans, etc. No Andoid watches.
Edit: BtW - answered my own question and found cheap monthly internet plans from a couple of MVNOs.
HelloMobile Unlimited Talk/Text/ 500MB monthly for $5.
InfiMobile 100 Minutes/ 100 Texts/ 500MB monthly for $3 - but better to lock in pricing for up to 6 months for $36. You never know when the $3 deal price runs out.
What $15 and what 5 years are you talking about?
