I set up my account, was pretty easy, although I didn't get any confirmation at the end that the bonus was applied. Do they not do that? I took a screenshot of the page at the beginning where I entered the bonus code just in case.
Be prepared for
Incoming wire fee
Paper statement fee
Cash deposit fee
Cons:
Deposit going to any other account (error) mentioned on deposit slip with even if name doesn't match.
Different deposit slip for instate and outof state deposits.
Long waiting times for cash availability.
Pros:
Easy credit card issuance.
Largest bank of America
The cash deposit fee has been gone for many years. That account type no longer exists. I think it was called E-banking.
There is no paper statement fee if you go electronic statements, which is the default statement setting.
This is for direct deposit, not a wire. No need to wire at all. Can use ACH instead if you really need to. But it's true there is an incoming wire xfer fee.
BOFA doesn't use deposit slips since last year.
I suppose their banks can be busy depending on when you go. Their ATM withdrawal limit is $2000 a day though (even higher for Merrill clients) , which I think is the highest you'll find.
Personally a fan of Bofa due to Preferred Rewards, Merrill partnership, and their good CCs.
5.25% cash back on online purchases and 2.62% on everything if you can get to platinum honors. (100k between everything, including retirement)
Note the deposit requirement here. It has to be a direct deposit such as a salary. You can't move money in from another bank or deposit it normally. Some offers allowed that in the past and it is much simpler. For this you need to change your account and routing info on file with your employer/
That is all checking account bonuses, but people have found bypasses for this as some banks code transfers as direct deposit. Just need to find which triggers it.
lol pretty sure wells fargo has a 325 for new checking and 500 min... so not the best deal. Theres alot of deals like this of course make sure your ready to keep track of irs papers lol
lmao, I had them many many many years ago (2009) it was alright till they wanted to charge me ... then i dropped them, now days I use about 5 different banks maybe more... eh... as long as it dont have a crazy requirement. Never paying any of them a monthly theres no honest reason to unless your needing personized checks...

3 Days to ACH? No thanks.
I was explaining to people who want to continue using their account. Once we maintain accounts some wires will be there. If one is just opening it for the $300 then my pros and cons may not be for them.
Yes, there are no deposit slips at BoA kept outside. BoA customers know that one can go stand in the line take a deposit slip from teller and fill in details and then stand back in line and deposit. Or if the teller is friendly they may allow to come back without the queue.
I am not blaming the OP personally for he issues at bank. I am sure the OP is not CEO of the bank. I am just sharing details for prospective customers falling for the $300 opening. No need to take it personal.
If one wants an online account like advertised, they can sign up for High Yeild Savings account at Amex or a local credit union which gives a better rate of return than the CD's as BoA.
Cash availability: May be some call it balance availability. Boa can sometimes hold your balance for longer times without making it available. But for some one who has not deposited a check at the branch that might not matter.
