Home Depot is offering a FREE 8.0AH POWERPACK Battery with select tools. This deal includes Dewalt's Latest and Greatest Hammer Drill Kit DCD1007WW1. The kit (which already includes 8.0AH Powerpack battery & Charger) + free ADDITIONAL 8.0AH Powerpack battery would be $349, if you wish to keep both. However, this deal is hackable, so if you'd just like to keep the hammer drill kit and return the free additional battery, you can score the DCD1007WW1 kit for just $214.

So to be clear, that would be a total of $214 for the entire DCD1007WW1 kit, which includes Dewalt's latest Hammer Drill + 8.0AH Powerpack battery + Fast Charger.

All these great Dewalt posts need to stop! I don't need to spend any more money on tools right now. 😂

Can get this 8ah powerpack down to about $105 when choosing a different "main" item as well... FYI

If a tool is available in 60v, get the 60v. They're so much better.

Never have I drilled a hole into concrete or brick and thought to myself, "This would be fine with less power." I have always though, "I wish I had more power." Every single time. SDS+. SDS Max. 60V DeWalt.

Are you talking about the $279 sale at Lowe's? I'm the one that actually posted that deal here last week, and this deal blows that deal out of the water. The last I checked $214 is far less than $279. Wow people, simple math!

not to get into the middle of this mess but...

I've never pre-drilled 1/16" holes in wood and EVER thought, "Man, this isn't powerful enough." Even when I still had a crappy B&D 9V or 12V that my parents bought me as a kid that wasn't a thought.

You're essentially telling everyone to buy a semi because it can haul tens-hundreds of tons of stuff when most people are driving around with little more than a few hundred extra pounds and some are grabbing a few bags of concrete that a light truck could do.

I've been in the market for a new drill. May wait for black friday/cyber monday. I though this drill looked odd. It's their first attempt at shortening the larger 3 speed hammer drill. Metal transmission, led light, and some sort of kickback technology built in. It's also "Chip Ready" like any good citizen.

Does anyone have experience with the kickback tech or this drill in particular?

No personal experience with it, but when I picked it up in store (compared to my DCD805 XR 2- speed) this thing is a beast.
Some reviews/videos I've seen with this seem to indicate the same about performance.

I have no experience with this drill in particular, but I have the XR 2-1/4 HP router with the kickback protection and also the M18 FUEL hammer drill with kickback protection. I am assuming that the tech is identical between the XR router and drill, which also seems to be the same as the M18. For both of these tools, the kickback is pretty easy to set off if you fake a kickback, but I haven't had a real kickback with one. I think the technology is solid since its unlikely you would ever trigger it as a false alarm.

Personally, this doesn't seem like a deal at all. Paying 100 bucks for the hammer drill alone would be a good deal. You don't need the latest and greatest in drill technology. I've been using the same dewalt drills for over a decade and I can't imagine they're somehow more useful now than the model I bought over 10 years ago. I use the hammer drill the least because of its weight and inability to keep up with my actual SDS hammer drill for bigger jobs. A lighter drill/driver is better for most cases. I'm gonna guess an 8ah battery is heavy too. I'd opt for an older and cheaper model of the same caliber but you do you.

The link posted takes you to the non hackable version where you get the kit and extra battery as a single SKU.

This is the hackable version. [homedepot.com]

When analyzing the post hack price of $215 for the kit, think of the drill as $125 the battery as $75 and the charger & case $15 not bad if you're a DeWalt fanboy.

Not sure what you're seeing, the original link took me to the item that you choose your free item (AKA hackable). The link you posted took me to the same page...

If you're happy with the DeWalt Hammer Drill that you've been usung for over a decade, why are you here on slickdeals looking for a DeWalt Hammer Drill? Clearly this deal isn't for you. But for me, and many others, the more power with the latest tech the better, but you do you.
