Hackable deal for Dewalt's new top dog Hammer Drill Kit Includes:
DCD1007 1/2" 3 Speed Hammer Drill w/ Handle & Belt Clip
DCB2108 POWERPACK 8AH Battery
DCB118 8AH Fast Charger
Toolbag

DCD1007WW1 $349 previous price marked to $299 -> $172.59 hacked
DCB2108 $219-> $126.41 hacked

Before Somebody asks, "hacking" in this sense involves buying a BOGO deal and returning/canceling/never picking up the unwanted item. Each item will show up in your cart/on your receipt individually and can be returned as such.
At Home Depot this is easiest online and have the wanted item delivered to your local store and the unwanted item to a random store. The unwanted you can cancel soon after order is placed (this has been showing up on every order of mine recently). If you don't have an option to cancel, you can wait for them to cancel it (one week or more) or call customer service AFTER you pickup your wanted item and have them cancel it.

Amazing deal! You're basically getting DeWalt's top of the line latest and greatest tabless 8Ah battery for $100 and top of the line latest and greatest hammer drill for $73...
*plus fast charger & tool bag

I think the current deal/bundle at HD is $50 cheaper than previous.

That's a really good deal any way to split it, or for the whole thing.

If you are using a hammer drill (this model is already heavy) long enough to need an 8ah battery (which is also heavy), it is going to be super heavy. I would never use an 8 ah battery with a hand tool like a drill

What am I missing? It is only letting me select the 8ah battery as the free gift. No option for another drill kit.

Disregard, figured it out.

This deal has been available for months.
No, this kit was listed @ $349 before which was like $215 or so when hacked.

Hacking is not the right thing to do, these retailers are not making much money and by taking advantage of them will result in store closings and bankruptcy
Home Depot can EASILY stop this if needed, just offer it as one SKU (they already do this for most BOGO things, example here [homedepot.com]) or do like Lowe's does [ONLINE] and don't split the offers into pro-rated prices.

You can split it how I listed earlier... $173 Drill kit (drill, batt, charger, bag) and $126 BOGO battery
If you want to split it anymore than that, it's on you to sell it 3rd party...

Every time I try to hack they just cancel the item I want now. I'm not even bothering with them anymore

This battery will do the obvious of lasting 8ah worth of use, but also can make some tools slightly stronger because there is less voltage sag with this battery vs almost every other Dewalt battery in their current lineup.
I've done this with some impacts of mine, usually use 1.7ah powerstacks but I'll grab a 9ah battery for a handful of stuck fasteners that need that little bit of extra oomph, then swap back to my light battery for the rest.
I can see this battery being VERY good for circ saws though, lots of runtime and will add a bit of extra power and the extra weight is sitting on a board.

It's adding to the cart as one whole order of $299. It's not separating it into two separate purchases (bogo, eg)

Seems to be working just fine on my end...

Submit order like this, separate pickup locations, then cancel the battery (or just never pickup item).

Torque Test Channel says these are both class leading, far superior to the Red Head Step Child Brand.

Is this a good tool to use as a regular drill (wood / metal)? Or should it only be used for concrete in hammer mode? I want it for that reason too but i'm wondering if I also need another drill for regular use.
