I guess returns are not accepted for these purchases unless there is some defect/ damage. Something to keep in mind. I learnt it the hard way
Points go 50% further, it's not 50% off. Here's an example of a $100 item:

10,000 points = $100
what amount of points (define as X) * 150% = 10,000?
1.5X = 10,000 --> X = 10,000/1.5 = 6,667
with 50% bonus, $100 = 6,667 points, a savings of 3,333 points (10,000 - 6,667)
3,333/10,000 = 33%, or a 33% savings

said another way:
normally $1 = 100 points, but with the 50% further $1 = 100/1.5 = 66 points
Old Price = 100 Points
New Price = 66 Points
Change = (New price - Old price) / Old Price = (66 - 100) / 100 = -33/100 = -33%
It's only when you have the Chase Reserve card when you received the 50% discount. Otherwise, if you have the "Preferred", you'll only received 20% discount instead of 25% as stated above!

Yep that's what's holding me back. They seem pretty bad from reviews....

Don't buy, more available for others, go buy regular price Big Grin There really nothing to worry, afraid chase won't send you the phone or afraid phone has problem? Apple Store is everywhere, you can exchange for another one if it's indeed a problem

25% for me with a Chase Sapphire Preferred

Your 139,990 points are worth $1,399.90
+ Your 25% bonus gives you $349.98
= $1,749.88 For Apple® purchases on Ultimate Rewards

Might pull the trigger on this when the new M4 Mac Mini comes out next week

How long does it usually take to ship after placing the order for iPhone 16 pro?

I don't fly to Zimbabwe, I usually fly to Tokyo on first class @ 10 cent pp. Biz around 5 cent pp.

And you can also get pretty good value for short haul US flight.

Example.
I am flying DTW to SEA main cabin on Delta this coming weekend .
Each ticket cost 18500 point + $5 USD. Chase UR convert to Virgin Atlantic has a 40% bonus since Oct 15 so you only need 13220 UR point for 18500 Virgin Atlantic point. The day I book the ticket (Oct 17) the price was around $300 USD for that flight so you are essentially getting

$300-$5 = $295
$295/ 13220 UR = 0.022
2.2 cents per UR point
Were there any other airlines that had the flight for less than $300? Probably so. Now take the price of the cheapest flight you could find and divide it by the points you spend. Probably less than 2.2c pp now. You're also neglecting the fact that there are other ways to get discounted airfare (e.g., Southwest gift cards are often 15% off at Costco).

I'm not saying there aren't better values to be had than 1.5c pp on travel. But the fact is this is a simple and solid deal (if you were going to buy Apple products at full price anyway).

Can anyone confirm if these phones are carrier unlocked? There's no option to select which carrier when adding them to cart. I have T-mobile. Thanks

If you buy directly from Apple in full. They are unlocked

There are 2 airlines that flight directly from DTW to SEA, Alaska or Delta; There price could be different but by $10-$20.

I certainly could fly Basic Econ for $50 less which I would seat a random stranger rather than my wife.

Yep there are cheapest option such as Frontier or Spirit which probably go for $100 less but you need layover for 4-8 hours.

You are telling me how my experience during the flight and my time is not a factor? I probably shouldn't fly on Sat too since it probably cost more. And no I can't fly southwest because they don't have a direct flight too.
The fact is this deal is for CSR holder.. so don't tell me those people will volunteer to fly Spirit or Frontier and waste a few hours on layover and feel that they got a better deal.

By your logic why can't people get a cheap Samsung smartphone or an old Apple device from Swappa or eBay and we use that to compare the pp value then? They will enc up with a decent device that function similar to a new phone.
Using UR point to redeem a new device doesn't seem better of value if we do that.

It seems your post is just for an argument sake... Confused

But your neglecting the fact that there are other ways to get discounted apple products by buying discounted apple gift cards. I easily get apple gift cards at 10 - 30% off.

I've bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max already, receiving the phone with a trade-in kit on Oct 22 and activating it immediately thereafter. In my situation, would it be easy to returned the opened/activated phone easily? What about the trade-in kit? Is there a way to trade in old device when taking this Chase deal?

This is one of the worst ways to waste your Chase UR points, you get just about 1.5 cents per point.
What is the best way to use the points then? If you say travel, them know 2 things:
1) you get the same bonus or value for travel as this deal
2) the same trip or hotel or rental you book on the UR platform can actually be found cheaper in value of you were to book it using a different site (but you will be paying for it via credit card)

I actually think it's fairly reasonable unless you have a ton of points and fly business class. Why?

1. Most people value Chase UR points at 2cpp or something, but in reality if you use them to book economy flights I've largely only seen 1.5-1.8cpp at best over the last 10 years of flying with points to destinations I want, and sometimes a bit worse if you include other airline fees.

2. Points are subject to devaluation over time, and having hundreds of thousands of points sit for 5-10 years means you also didn't get that cash back invested in the market at 8%+ returns

If you're booking business flights valued at 5cpp or whatever then it's a different discussion, but I don't churn at those types of levels, and I also don't think business class is really worth 3-5x the points of economy usually.

Where do you get apple gift cards 30% off? I've never seen that. Old black friday deals used to be around 20% off with Target, but last few years have only been 15%. I've never seen anything higher than 20%.

The point of any "deal" sites is for someone to look for ways to buy things below full price.
This deal is for people who want to burn their points without having to travel. It's fast and efficient but not the way to get the best value out of their points. (I'm not a self-proclaimed point expert)

One example: iPad Air 11 is $599 + tax on the Chase site, where it's on sale for $499 at Amazon, and I could even get it same day (with prime). Yes I do have to shell out cash to pay for it vs. just redeeming points, but I have better use for the points.

Airline tickets are almost always better redemption value. This deal is ok but I save my points for flights.

agree... this deal w/ apple products comes around every now and then...

have you also noticed this year, or maybe starting last year... but not the case for years with chase points for flights...

the redemptions arent as good any more? this year i found myself just buying the flights direct from the airlines after comparing it w/ the chase portal... which uses the expedia I think, engine.

You got 25%? Freedom only shows me 10%

Anyone know if I can upgrade my card in order to get the 25% offer?
