It's more expensive, but I personally found a form-fitting clamshell case like this one was far better for my 8bitdo Pro 2:

It feels just as protective while not being quite so bulky in my luggage.

I pack my Switch, one of my controllers with a clamshell case (usually the 8bitdo Pro 2 or the Switch Pro), and a travel dock (one of the no-frills one like these [amazon.com]). Usually I'm visiting family who has their own Switch and a regular dock, but that setup also works if I just wanna plug in at a hotel room or something.

Just was looking this up, are these cases that bulky? How dose it compare with the SCUF cases in terms of size and quality?

I often travel with just an Xbox controller to use with either a laptop or a tablet, either for installed games or cloud gaming.

(Although, I have been considering getting one of the new Fire sticks and using it as a cloud gaming platform in hotels connecting it to my GL.iNet travel router.)

I've tried form fitting for other gamepads in the past and the problem i've found is that they are usually a tight fit and apply pressure to the sticks causing them to drift. Then again, the netted part of this case would also likely apply pressure to the stick.

What's the point, just use it and throw it in a bag whenever you need to. Low chance of breaking it and if you do it's a cheap controller, just get another one. Case is waste.
Analog sticks get recked during the use of a daily backpack or during the bumps of travel. I learned the hard way and use a case every time I take the controller somewhere

This case fits multiple types of controllers. PS5 controllers are in that list & they go for $60+

I have the same question. I'd like a way to transport my ultimate and the charging dock.

Personally, I use the Tomtoc:

https://a.co/d/7yXJYXg

Pros:
- I like them more than the cloth/felt based ones cuz if it gets dirty I can easily wipe it off the hard plastic.
- The Tomtoc has a slot where you can charge the controller while still in the case which is super convenient. I use it at home too, it stops dust from getting on my controller when I'm not using it.
- Uses a clip, so no zipper that can break/get caught in things. Fewer moving parts that have the chance to break.
- Form fitting, just like the one you posted

Cons:
- They only make them for the official controllers like Switch Procon, Xbox controller and PS5 DualSense (AFAIK)
- $16 on Tomtoc website or $18 with 10% coupon on Amazon, but you can find it as cheap as $7 on AE (I bought mine for $7)

I use the same for my Switch Pro controller. However, the thread at hand was for 8bitdo Pro 2 cases. Smilie

Sounds like this one won't accommodate both the controller and the dock, but 8BitDo has an Ultimate-specific case that will:

Not everyone uses cheap crap controllers as you do. Mines range from $50~$200. I dont think that is expandable cheap in most standards.
