Worth it just for the batteries. Cheapest price for a 6A battery outside HD is $120 each and HD price is $200 each. I see it as 4 batteries and a free tiller. With the batteries, I can finally blow my whole driveway without recharging. Of course, I don't know if/when I might ever use the tiller.

Ryobi should just change its name to "Ryobi Battery Inc.".

Previous Frontpage thread mentions selling the bare tiller separately, and keeping the batteries for less total cost.

Also mentioned is the batteries may already be 3 years old and dead.

Ryobi might replace the batteries if they actually have 3 yr old date codes when bought new from HD...it would not be okay for them to sell those as new from their key retailer.

This deal if you read comes with a 5 year battery and tiller warranty instead of the normal 3 year.

Weird, I saw it at $500 when I added it to my cart but when I went to checkout it jumped up to $1000. HomeDepot trying to bait and switch me.

Did the same to me - said "price has been updated to reflect LOCAL price."

Probably good deal for the batteries, but a battery powered tiller is about the dumbest thing I have every heard of.

Definitely shenanigans being played - tried it again today and it showed up for $530.00 in cart.

It seems an OK price for 4 6ah batteries given the variation I have seen in prices. And if I sell the tiller bare tool would make it a pretty decent steal imo.
