Edit: just found out that PS5 is compatible up to 8TB.
All of my media is backed up on both a RAID10 and RAID5. Losing data on a single disk is already foolish, and even more foolish for you to hate on a disk size because it *might* fail.

Transferred the files to a diff drive and worked fine. firmware and all drivers up to date.
All hard drives controllers and connectors and file systems have already disclosed limitations. And new higher capacity drive will meet all those specifications unless your device uses a super old outdated file system from 1989 (I picked a random year from long time ago)
In other words 99.99% devices and use cases will support a higher capacity drive as long as the drive tech is supported by the controller specs.
