If I may suggest...on reddit there is a sub that deals specifically with laptop deals and the mods do a very good job of explaining different laptops to you. Every few weeks they update their laptop recommendations. They just updated their recommendations this morning. You will find those recommendations at the following link (EDIT: it isnt letting me provide the link. Google "reddit laptop deals" or go to r/laptopdeals and look at the Mods recommendations)

I want to buy a gaming laptop this year, so I made this google spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadshe...sp=sharing to compare them, maybe someone willing to help? I am thinking adding rows with CPU ang GPU performance and links to sites like nanoreview for detailed comparison

Specs don't say the wattage of the 4060, which is extremely important, but the power brick that ships with this is 330W so presumably this is the full power mobile 4060 because the 7840HS sips power

A few months ago we bought this same model for my son but with better Intel CPU, double the storage, much better screen for $810 and he loves it. Super heavy, but if you plan on using it as a desktop replacement that won't be an issue at all.

For $720 this is a pretty good price for a budget 4060 laptop.

What's the wattage on the 4060?
Apparently it's a 140W 4060. So it's full power. None of them hit that rate sustained anyway. It's also a 300 nit display. In general, not too shabby for the price.

Any thoughts on how this compares to the Lenovo LOQ one? Is the CPU difference a big deal? Any experience with the displays or build quality? https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/1015602
The g15 chassis is a really robust plastic..holding it next to the LOQ, the Lenovo has more flex and feels thinner. It's not bad, just not as good.

I take my g15 everywhere without any special care. It's a solid tank. The loq hasn't traveled with me, yet

Does anyone know if this laptop can be used in a clamshell model without overheating issues? (I am asking this because it looks like this laptop has air intake right above the keyboard. Then it won't work well in a clamshell mode.)

With 10% email coupon + Amex Hilton $100 off $500 deal + Amex Platinum Business $200 Dell credit (Dell allows you to charge up to 3 credit cards with different amount when you checkout), this is a truly great deal, if you're in the gaming laptop market. Plus, any business may be able to deduct this item as long as they can expense IT equipments. This is a huge plus.

My laptop is about 10 years old and in the last two months I have been studying about gaming laptops with an eye towards getting one around black Friday or cyber-Monday. I am considering both the Lenovo LOQ and the Dell G15 (as well as others). I understand that the Dell is about 2/3 of an inch deeper (due to the "thermal shelf") and about 3/4 lb heavier. And of course, the Dell has the massive charging brick. Those three things make it a bit less portable. Other than that, which is your favorite. All the reviews I have seen have said the Lenovo is the better computer (for various reasons). Just wanted an opinion of someone who owns both. I tend to keep my computers for a long time, so I really want to make the best choice possible. Thanks in advance for any opinions or info you can give me.

My tips in buying a gaming laptop:
#1. Check if you can add a SSD. 512 will be full quickly especially if you want to play games on this. Or replace the SSD w a bigger one.
#2. Buy a good cool pad. No matter how it was made, laptops cannot handle heat from moderate to severe gaming.
#3. Don't think about mobility. Those who are concerned about the weight probably expect something wrong from a gaming laptop. I did travel w a gaming laptop. If you don't play games and can handle a couple more pounds, it provides good enough battery life.
Saying this, lastly, do compare to desktop options.

I wish this had the RGB keyboard. I wonder if I could swap it later.
Is there any budget laptop finder where we can filter for laptops with RBG keyboards? They all seem to have red or white only.

I bought one of these exact units a few weeks ago to use as my Steam Link box for when I want to game while on the treadmill or sitting in the living room. Wanted the 4060 and the 1080p screen so that it would last a long time with the lower resolution needing less horsepower and the 4060 ensuring it could run the latest DLSS standards + frame gen as needed.

Has been an absolute dream. Maxes out anything out right now, runs cool and quiet, and just does what I needed to which is sit quietly in my office and respond to Steam Link requests from around my house without needing to leave my power hungry main PC running all the time.

Probably Sponsoreddeals.net policy. Thank you for your work. Maybe there are reddit subs that can replace this money hungry site.

My job is giving me around $2000 for a business laptop. Is there anything out there that is business rugged but a sneaky good gaming laptop as well in that price point?
The Asus Tuf line. Their case is made out of metal and the design is a very subdued business-like look to it.
I just landed the A16 deal from a few weeks ago. It's pretty solid and perfectly silent when not gaming.

I really enjoy my 5535 but as previously commented, the ssd (2230) fills up fast but there's a second slot available. I mostly play conan and palworld maxed out settings, cpu temps stay fairly cool (i use a cooling pad). It was giving me all kinds of software issues when I first got it but I don't like all the dell bloatware anyway so I reinstalled Windows and haven't had any problems since. I don't even use my desktop now (7900x/6900xt), this does everything I need.
FYI you can only charge it with the 7.4mm barrel charger, the power brick for this is gigantic.

If we are not gaming, which is better? This vs. LG Gram from costco at https://www.costco.com/lg-gram-15...58328.html for $750?
