Some cordless vacuums sacrifice suction for lightness. The Dyson Digital Slim™ delivers the powerful performance you’d expect from a Dyson, yet it’s 33% lighter than the Dyson V11™ vacuum. With up to 40 minutes of fade-free suction, it is pioneering Dyson technology concentrated for deep cleaning.¹ Engineered for homes with pets. It has advanced, whole-machine filtration that captures pet allergens and fine dust and expels cleaner air. Thanks to the cordless format, it also transforms into a handheld vacuum with one click so you can clean up high, down low, and everywhere in between. Comes with a 2-year warranty and lifetime Dyson support. ¹Actual run time will vary based on power mode, dust level, floor type and/or attachments used. ²In Boost mode. All other modes achieve at least 99.97% filtration.

They compare it to the V11 and how it's different.
It's not the same, it seems to be a slightly more compact and lighter version with improvements. It's shorter, lighter, with a smaller cleaning head, and even the motor and container assembly seems a bit smaller too.
I have the V11, like it a lot. Great vacuum, had it for 4 years and it's still going strong. We have a townhouse with lots of stairs so it makes vacuuming those so much easier. We hardly touch our Bissel vacuum now as the v11 does a great job by itself.

I guess it's just called the "Dyson Digital Slim". Amazon has it for $249 as well. Apparently Amazon has had it since October 15th from a seller for $699. On October 22 it was available from Amazon itself for $499 and it dropped today to $249. Not sure what the actual price will end up being. Probably a decent deal though. Who knows what Black Friday will bring...
The reviews on Amazon seem average to OK. Have to remember though that all these reviews are from people who bought it for $500, so I guess the expectations would have been higher. I'm surprised you have to hold the button down to keep it running, is this with most of these battery vacuums? May be a stupid question, but I've never had one and am in the market.

Trying to figure out if this is the same review but not 100% sure - it says there are 11 cyclones though.

Any experts able to weigh in if this is really a good deal? Grandma wants a lightweight vacuum. Don't see any actual reviews of this specific model.
Same price on Amazon btw.

Even for the price... don't want to have to hold a button to keep it running. That feature needs to change.

For what it's worth, they have 4/5 stars on their reviews.
I've had my v7 for 7 years now. I think it's time for an upgrade.
