Nice deal
Its sister unit, the Onkyo RZ70...that it shares internals with...was stated to be the best AVR under $3K
Benching better than many others and coming with Dirac onboard at no charge https://www.audioholics.com/av-re...-tx-rz70-1
Personally I think these are the best AVR's at the sub $3500 price point
This unit even has some additional XLR connections that some have found useful
The actual buyers of this unit seem to love it( and the RZ70) on AVS forum
I wish Amir would review these...that would be telling
dlbc is still listed as a "user upgrade" for this lx805.
As it should for nearly any mass market AVR that is Dirac-capable. Are you aware of a product that costs less than $4k that comes w/both Dirac Live and Dirac Live Bass Control for no additional cost?
If this is the AVR you were after and in no hurry.
You might want wait and see if Best Buy brings back their $1499 sale from about a month ago.
The extra $300 would cover the cost for DLBC!

if it's included, and it hits $1500 again, yeah that would be a winner!
This is not confirmed! As a matter of fact, 805 owners will pay out of pocket for DLBC (like mostly everyone else, regardless of make)!
Those of you seriously considering this 805 should hedge on whether or not the Pioneer/Dirac relationship continues in the near future. Despite the RZ50 and DRX5.4 getting updates that enabled DLBC, the 505 didn't get it. The writing is on the wall and Voxx may be looking to offload Pioneer as we speak! It's because of this I highly doubt ART will ever make it to the 805!

Wow...speculate much?!!
Since you are on an imagination tour
Maybe you can explain why those units that was supposed to get Dirac ART are no where near that speculation date that it was supposed to be available?
ouch, no dlbc and no art included, might as well go with denon and get more discrete sub outputs, for future expansion.
Nothing has DLBC included at no charge besides a Storm audio product...which does include Dirac ART as well. That product is available right now
What I would be considering is how much you are going to have to spend to get specs that are at least equivalent to the unit in this thread AND Dirac capability
I dont own a Storm product. For me to give some extended commentary about sonic capability means I owned the product in my own home for a period of time and put in through all my demos in my own room with my own speakers
So.. due to not owning a Storm product..I cant really give much on what Dirac ART brings sonically

12 months late or so if I recall correctly
I could care less about ART and I certainly don't have the audio budget of StormAudio users!

I was actually the most interested in your " writing on the wall" comment about company position and products. It was " interesting" in its imagination, IMO
With that in mind...what do you speculate about the future of Denon/Marantz etc since Masimo split off the the consumer audio business to not bring down profits on their much more lucrative medial products.. Then they have had to lower earnings outlook on that most profitable business

But its always nice to use the exact same metrics from the exact same source to evaluate

RZ50 - got the DLBM/DLBC firmware upgrade
https://assets.onkyo-av.com/produ...1730108
DRX5.4 - got the DLBM/DLBC firmware upgrade
https://integrahomethea
505 - did not get the DLBM/DLBC firmware upgrade
https://assets.pioneerh
The 505 didn't even get the "Improve the Dirac Live measurement on the Onkyo Application." that the 7100 got:

Draw your own conclusions for why the 505 clone didn't get the update (the only one not to do so)!
