- It's definitely worth getting the built-in cable lock.
- if you have a modern large truck and do you want the tailgate to come down? You need the drop hitch extension.
- If you have a 2.5 or 3 inch receiver with a sleeve you cannot use the sleeve with the stabilizer in the drop hitch. You need to make sure you order the drop hitch for your maximum receiver size.
- 20 inch wheels will fit in the standard basket, but the forks will slightly touch. If you want only rubber contact order the 20 inch basket for your kids.

I wish they made an all black color version. Not good looking like Kuat but it looks functional and easy to use. I think it's a solid rack if you need to carry 4+ bikes.

I have this rack and it's MOST EXCELLENT.

I am seeing more of these at the trailhead. I assume that is due to their function. I'm fine with what I presently have, but when it needs to be replaced, I will be looking at this for sure.
$700 starting price with the discount, this brand is quite expensive
Find another 7-bike rack, I'll wait. Some of us have big families, big bikes, or want to ride with friends and family. Also , ebikes are no joke and significantly heavier than a non ebike and a heavy duty rack is required.

I have one and can't recommend it enough. Incredibly well built and user friendly. Easiest way to carry 3+ bikes. The major downside is you will now by default be the shuttle vehicle for the group ride 😂
I don't know much about this brand of racks, but looks like they only offer a 2 year warranty on these. However, other top brands like Kuat and 1Up have lifetime warranties. Anyone know how the three brands compare in quality and durability?
What does it do to your gas mileage? I have an f150 with topper and a 1up rack. 4 bikes doesn't even affect the mileage. I get around 20mpg with the bikes or without. I spoke with someone with an f250 but they didn't know because they changed multiple things at once and were getting like 14mpg. Anyone have an idea? I might just keep cramming extra bike in the topper.

I'm sure it varies by vehicle, but in general (not specific to Velocirax), hitch mounted racks are supposed to be negligible/low impact on mileage. If you are getting no impact on a roof rack with 4 bikes, I don't see how a 5th would make a difference, so I don't think I'd buy this for the sake of improved fuel economy. (I have read, in the worst case, roof racks can cause 35% decrease in fuel economy, but that doesn't sound like it applies to you).
