CVS Info:

First of all, you will need a CVS ExtraCare card. This is obtained easily at any store at the register. Some will ask you to fill out the form then and there, others will just give you the card and ask you to return the form later.

Once you have the card, you can now start CVSing

The biggest thing to understand is that CVS uses a promotional program called ExtraCare Bucks (commonly abbreviated as ECBs.) These print out on your receipt immediately once you purchase an item offering them; almost like an instant-rebate you get at the register. You can turn around and use them anytime on almost anything in the store, except for alcohol, cigarettes, and gift cards.

Often, CVS advertises items as Free after ECB For example, throughout the month of November, CVS has Crest Pro Health Whitening Toothpaste in 4.2 oz size, for free after ECB. The cost is $3.49, but you get $3.49 back instantly on your receipt. The best part is that there are often coupons available that can actually help you earn money like for the above toothpaste, there are $1 off coupons available, meaning the item would be $2.49, but you get $3.49 in ECBs back. The limit on this toothpaste for this month is 2. So if you wanted to start off small to get into CVSing, the thing to do would be to buy one toothpaste in the first transaction (and use a coupon if you have one, so that you either pay $3.49 or $2.49 in cash), then use the $3.49 ECBs you get back from that first transaction to pay for the second tube of toothpaste, and again, receive $3.49 more in ECBs.

The trick now is to roll your ECBs so that you rarely pay more than maybe a dollar or two in tax on transactions, instead using your ECBs from previous transactions then earning more to keep doing the same. Its a cycle (and a game/addiction to some, lol.)

laugh out loud Yeah... apparently my lame-ass excuse of a gingerbread man wasn't good enough. a good chunk of the other kids in the class are actually from foreign places with national dress. We're supposed to dress these to reflect our heritage. Only they said "decorate" so I printed a bunch of pictures and BT glued them to the first gingerbread man. Roll Not good enough, Mom. Everyone else had clothes on their gingerbread man! Facepalm

I'm saving this bad boy... LT starts kindergarten in a few years... Evil

Sadwalk I just found out that the house that burned to the ground in the middle of the night was M's good friend's house. She was just at his house last week for his birthday sledding party. They just moved into the house a couple of months ago. Thankfully, everyone made it out alive but there isn't anything left of the house. Unfortunately, the angle of their driveway made it impossible for the fire trucks to get to their house which is what contributed to it being a total loss. I feel sick to my stomach. I have always joked around with this kid.

Here's a picture of their house EEK!

I know. I can't even imagine. A (his name) and I have a comical friendship. He was selling cookies at their middle school last year for a fair thing they were doing. He was trying to get me to buy more cookies from him. I made him a deal that I would buy every last cookie he had if he promised to never hit on my daughter laugh out loud Him and I still laugh and joke about it (but, he has kept up on his end of the deal)

What can I do for him?

Did any of you ladies see the "It was an accident" thread? Are y'all like that with your furniture (expecting a new one if something happens to it)?
I laughed a little thinking of freaking out like that over a sofa. I have nice furniture passed down by the kid's grandma, but good Lord I'd give myself a headache if I expected nothing to happen to it. laugh out loud

I do need to shampoo the cushions soon. I need to clean a lot soon. Down
I'd be aggravated if it was brand new, but things happen.

I bet TS could share what helped them the most. Do you have any clothes you could share with the kids until they can get some new ones?

No, but I would be willing to go out and buy new. I thought of TS right away.

TS, what were the things that helped you best in the very beginning after your house fire?

The kid lost our apartment key. I'm so annoyed with him. He lost it because he wanted to show off the pencil shaped foam keyring attached to it. Mad He's had it for almost a year and NOW he's going to use it for a impromptu show and tell?
I was stupid enough to give him an original that needs to be returned. Ugh!

I guess I'll be starting my Tuesday by searching his classroom. Mad

For some reason, I remember him saying the immediate necessities (like gift cards to places to eat) and the everyday items. I could be wrong, but, for some reason I recall this from his thread.

Depending on the kid's ages, toys may be good comfort items.

I know it's my fault, but I have no choice but to give him a key. I give up. I'm just going to be extremely hard on him for now on. Screw giving him leeway with this teacher. I'm going to start being on her side. That's how angry I am. Farking show and tell, distracting all of his peers, while the teacher is trying to teach. Mad He knows better. Mad

There are two kids, one in 8th grade and one in high school. A wasn't in school today (obviously) so M hasn't been able to talk to him to see what we can do. I just can't imagine their heartache.

Oh. Hm. Yeah, it'll be harder with that age range since they grasp the whole concept. Frown I wouldn't ask what you can do because I imagine kids, even at that age, either wouldn't know or wouldn't be willing to tell.
Maybe you can start to organize a fundraiser (contact the schools) if someone hasn't already?

Have you found the thread TS started? If not, I'll go search. Maybe that'll give you some ideas.

Honey, he's a kid. They lose things. You'd cringe if I told you how many keys I lost when I was a kid. It's ok. They get distracted, they do weird stuff...just take a deep breath.
