Yes it's essentially a 2 year old computer design, but they haven't been sitting around for 2 years. It's currently the low end version of the Air that Apple sells and was likely only manufactured in the last month or two.

I do get your point though and I'm torn on what I want to eventually get. There are noticeable pros/cons between the Air and Pro.

Thanks for sharing that perspective! I can see the logic for people who upgrade often—the value of saving upfront and reinvesting in new tech every few years. But for someone like me who prefers to stick with my devices until they're fully outdated or malfunctioning, the latest generation still feels worthwhile. The extra upfront cost can mean better performance and longevity, which I appreciate given how much I depend on my tech.

I have a 2012 pro, I was able to update the ram and battery several years ago and the keyboard is just starting to die. Otherwise it runs fine to me. People needlessly replace things.

I bought the Best Buy deal a few days ago, so tried to price match this by chat but they refused it twice. If they won't price match this then their price match policy is worthless. Lesson learnt and will be buying from Amazon next time.
