Looks like a good deal, but I don't like prebuilts like these, proprietary everything. Upgradeability won't be great, and if it's stuck on 12th gen it also might be 65w only. So max 12600 non k. Do your research, but 12th gen is still heck a good though!

It has a 310W PSU and proprietary motherboard, so its not very upgradeable.

You should be able to put a low power GPU in it like a 3050.

I had the same thoughts. Proprietary MB and PSU. Can't re case it without a dremel. lol. 310W is going to limit GPU as well. No 24pin so can't even upgrade PSU. That said. 8gb Ram maybe 20$ used. 1050 or 1650. 100$ or less used. It will game lightly. HP not really known for build quality. I would go with a used Dell instead.

Thanks for all the informative comments. This one is sorta upgrade unfriendly as you all have indicated, but seems like a solid deal on a fairly recent build with a respectable CPU. Would make a great office, home office, surveillance hub, or HTPC for anyone wanting to upgrade from an older system on the cheap, and gain the advantages that NVMe and USB-C offer. As I recall, this processor benchmarks similarly to a Ryzen 5 5600.

Can you build me a complete PC with the same spec w/o proprietary garbage for $210?

Specs are good for the price ..

But make sure there is enough stata ports and see if PSU can be upgraded

Many of these have motherboard board with front usb attached to it ( can't move it to bigger case )

And Limited PCI-E, ram, sata ports

You might be able to find HP'S other PSU and swap it out …. But

When I tried with… Lenovo.. and try to run 1070… the new 500w PSU sounded like it's about to die.

You need head from for PSU

Here's my build with this PC
Quote :
HP TP01-3003w Pavilion i5-12400 2.5GHz Intel UHD Graphics 730 12GB RAM 512GB SSD $210
Cooler Master i71C RGB Intel Low-Profile CPU Air Cooler, Clean & Tested $20
EVGA GEFORCE RTX 2060 Super $160
16gb DDR4 3200 Corsair $30
4TB WD Black $50
Kingston NV2 1TB M.2 2280 NVMe Internal SSD SNV2S/1000G $35
500w HP PSU $60

Total - $565
I built it for Switch emulation, but it also plays 90% of my steam library at 1440P
It can also work as a plex server with a huge external HDD (16TB)

I think we chatted a few months ago about the PSU upgrade. So I'm guessing you've been using this build for a while. How would you rate it for the money spent? Any issues at all?
