Got my Verizon iPhone today. added a payment method on my new Verizon account.
dialed 8008374966 and provided the new phone number
Said "pay off device" when asked the reason for calling and follow the prompts.
Fully paid the 299$ for the device with Automated system without talking with a live person.

Then called in and spoke to a live person and canceled the line.

Last time a bunch of us did this, I believe we learned that the clock starts ticking for the Verizon 3 day cancellation when the phone ships. Thus it was recommended to only buy in store and not for shipping. I was able to buy in store, create account, call Verizon to pay in full and then cancel all within 24-36 hours.

If you're waiting 3 days for the shipment I don't see you getting out of the activation fee.

There is no difference between AT&T and Verizon in terms of unlocking the device - both are 60 days.

Am I right? Thanks.
Verizon is more flexible unlock.

Thank you very much.

You can cancel new line within 3 days - does it start when the phone is shipped?

How can we make it in 3 days?

yeah, thats what I also do not understand. Any luck yet?
No, I'm giving up for now. Lack of physical sim and the price is not that amazing. Last time it was $200 for the 13 mini which I'm still using. I would try AT&T if you really want it, or consider the Straight Talk iPhone 13 deal for $245 as the 13 and 14 use the same processor

I really need a new phone and have been waiting on a deal. This looks good to me! Should I pull the trigger or keep waiting on a better deal closer to actual BF?

I buy these phones every year from Walmart. When it comes to an iPhone deal this is probably the best you'll get (without the bill credit pain). In the past Walmart would also do a deal and give you a gift card with the purchase of a new iPhone but the phone itself may cost more upfront. The amount of gift card would depend on which iPhone you bought (more expensive phone = bigger gift card). I personally don't like messing with the gift cards - I just want the lowest priced iPhone and this tends to be it. I have 11 phone lines on my account so I'm always trying to get deals to either upgrade people and keep their bill low or use for trade in deals later on.

I have Verizon service so that's what I use. I've never tried adding new lines and canceling - I use upgrades.

does anyone know how to find account number or phone number associated with the account? i placed online order and received partial account number in email.
Before you place the order, they will ask you to sign a bunch of agreements. Download those docs; they have all the info you need.

I am giving this to someone going to college next year. This will be her first phone. Appropriate?
Have a 17 year old that needs a new iPhone and she insists on the iPhone 14 since it has the older style charging port. Great phone, great price IMO.

How about if I just buy the phone outright for $299… I really dislike these 24/36 month payoffs. But I realize that's how they rope you into an overpriced plan with a major carrier. They gotta make their money somehow.
