Got my Verizon iPhone today. added a payment method on my new Verizon account.
dialed 8008374966 and provided the new phone number
Said "pay off device" when asked the reason for calling and follow the prompts.
Fully paid the 299$ for the device with Automated system without talking with a live person.

Then called in and spoke to a live person and canceled the line.

Last time a bunch of us did this, I believe we learned that the clock starts ticking for the Verizon 3 day cancellation when the phone ships. Thus it was recommended to only buy in store and not for shipping. I was able to buy in store, create account, call Verizon to pay in full and then cancel all within 24-36 hours.

If you're waiting 3 days for the shipment I don't see you getting out of the activation fee.

Just to make sure, you add CC to your Verizon account and then call from a different number to "pay off device". After calling 8008374966, you need to share your new number when it asks for a number with the area code before you can pay off your device.
Just paid off both devices.

I'll try to request the unlocks and then cancel the lines.

Also, checked the serials and they are not showing as active by Apple. I guess not until I open the devices and power them on that they will register.

I did the same until step 4. But when i Disconect/Cancel the line , it says it will be disconnected at end of 30 days, which is Dec 11th for me. ? Got the same answer from the Customer care agent as well.

I am trying to cancel the line on Verizon after making the full payment and it says it will get disconnected after 30 days . Is this the standard reply ?

The robo chat did same to me and at first the live agent, but You should insist requesting cancel line immediately with live agent, they must do your request by agreement. Ask them to email you the confirmation.

I called the privided number and asked to "pay off device" and it sent me a link to pay it off. But when I tried to pay it off it said" Good news ,your device is already paid off"
Although I didn't pay it off!
Anyone else encountered a similar situation?

When your wireless device arrives, you'll need to activate it. Please use the activation instructions"

So maybe some were activated and some weren't

I tried to cancel the line through the automated chat and it created a ticket to do so a month from now.

The live chat agent is sticking to the same process. How can I cancel the line now and/or elevate this? Call a number instead?

EDIT: ok kept insisting in chat and got the line cancelled. Final bill will show $7.5x - received the email confirmation.

I have Verizon 5G home internet (wireless number), and when I try to add a line via walmart.com and get error "We are unable to add a line to your account. Please visit your nearest Walmart Mobile Desk."

Went to the physical walmart store, they couldn't help either and then went to actual Verizon store, and adding a line wasn't the problem..

I am in a dead-end, any help?
