Got my Verizon iPhone today. added a payment method on my new Verizon account.
dialed 8008374966 and provided the new phone number
Said "pay off device" when asked the reason for calling and follow the prompts.
Fully paid the 299$ for the device with Automated system without talking with a live person.

Then called in and spoke to a live person and canceled the line.

Last time a bunch of us did this, I believe we learned that the clock starts ticking for the Verizon 3 day cancellation when the phone ships. Thus it was recommended to only buy in store and not for shipping. I was able to buy in store, create account, call Verizon to pay in full and then cancel all within 24-36 hours.

If you're waiting 3 days for the shipment I don't see you getting out of the activation fee.

Hi,Can someone please help me here, i am not a verizon customer.ordered the phone on the 15th, got it today on 19th.Called up the number using a non verizon number, and asked for device pay off.I got this message this device isnt eligible to be paid off. You can come back on 11/30/2024.Can someone please assist me here as to what i can do now?
Call up customer care and pay off the device. Also cancel the service after paying off the device. Be persuasive as they try to make you wait for a month to cancel.

Yes, I have activated VZ iphone 14, and closed the line on the third day of activation. I have a Xfinity physical sim, wondering if I can convert Xfinity sim to VZ iphone 14's 2nd esim, and still keep the original VZ esim(closed line). If this works, will the VZ iphone still unlock after 60 days?
It works for Xfinity. I disconnected VZ line and remove the esim. Then, I converted my Xfinity physical sim to the esim on my current phone, then transferred the esim from my current to my new phone.

Customer care using the steps mentioned here or else just call up customer care and ask for pay off device

Has anyone been successful in getting activation fee removed from final bill? How did you do it? I cancelled on 3rd day, rep said she asked for it to be waived but was not waived in the final bill. Only option is to go to a store since service is already cancelled? I am unable to initiate chat when signed in but did not try calling Verizon yet.

Anyone tried to use the new phone for Total Wireless? Is that will effect the 60 days unlock policy from Verizon?

My iphone for sure is already activated on AT&T. Worst case can I cancel the $50 plan (as tomorrow (Wed) is the 3rd day) and just resubmit the unlock request after 60 days ?
Hi, Did your unlocked phone started showing in att portal and calls / text registered ? Only then per the wiki you have to submit unlock request. Can you confirm what error / msg you get while submitting imei for unlock ?

Yes, couple of people reported getting phones unlocked after 60 days but then again nothing is for sure with these carriers so you might have to file a FCC complaint after 60 days. That seems to have worked for everyone. Quote this from their policy https://www.att.com/support/artic...KM1262649/

"FYI: Don't have an account with AT&T? You can still unlock an AT&T device once it meets all requirements"
Should I just pay off and cancel att line before even phone arrives ? Then open a h2o line / Verizon and activate phone with that ?

I contacted the number that was displayed on the site on the top bar(800-verizon). On prompt, I selected request for new line. I explained the situation(exactly what happened) that I was talking to representative and was confirming few things before canceling the line but it got disconnected in the middle of conversation. Then she mentioned because I started the conversation with canceling line and that is why they might have disconnected earlier
Thanks. When you created a new line, did Verizon treat it as Bring Your Own Device? Any push back from store staff when you request to cancel the line again?

Yes, you can do that but if you are going H2O route I'd wait to get a confirmation that someone was able to get it unlocked otherwise it will be locked to ATT forever.
