This has been your PSA.
1. Use PayPal to get 7.5% back by logging into your PayPal account and search for promos, select StraightTalk. Will take you directly to StraightTalk site. That's what i did.
2. Chase card has 15% promo but caps at $15 discount, based on other users. I do not have Chase.
3. Purchase iPhone 13 with Silver plan. Must be Silver or higher to get $200 phone discount.
4. Do not select autopay to see PayPal payment option.
5. You can ship to different address if you're gifting it. They just need to understand the terms if they plan to unlock and use elsewhere or just stay with StraightTalk.
6. New phone needs to be activated, through StaightTalk online, for 60-day unlock countdown to begin. Phone does not need to be opened/used.
7. After the 30 plan expires, do not purchase another plan. Use it on WiFi or not at all.
8. After 60 days, phone will automatically unlock for any carrier.
9. Text "UNLOCK" to 611611 to confirm/see countdown.
10. Hope all goes well for us all.

I also have one number that is most important to me and I'm wary of porting that one around for deals. I have another number for that. I personally don't need to port my important away from T-Mobile at this time, but am wondering about good ideas for parking my other two numbers for cheap because both don't have an online history associated with anybody else (on Google search). I guess both Google Voice and Number Barn, but I've read that both can take days to complete the port? It's just less convenient, but I guess cheaper to do.
However, I was just in my online account and noticed that you CANNOT request a number transfer pin if your number is locked. I am assuming "number is locked" means "phone is locked".
So, yes, the phone will auto-unlock after 60 days with one-month of active service (I did this Total by Verizon).
BUT, if you are porting over an actively used number that you are not going to dispose of, I am assuming you would need two months of service. I am not absolutely sure of this port out issue, but I most likely will not be porting in an actively used number now.

Despite our success in using our SE as hotspots, carrying two phones in my pants pocket got a bit annoying and there were times when I wanted to use the SE as my main device so I wouldn't have to carry 2 phones. When using the SE 3 as my main phone, I had a hard time getting used to the smaller screen. In addition, the reduced battery life from having a smaller battery was readily apparent. Finally, the small storage space of 64GB started to become an issue - I had to be selective about which apps I installed. This is why we were looking at "upgrading" to the iPhone 13 for our travel phones.
I've actually just recently purchased two iPhone 13 from the latest Metro deal, but those have a 365 day unlock. And while the total cost of this ST 13 deal is a bit higher, when the 10 month shorter unlock period is factored in it's a no-brainer for us - not only are we getting phones that will unlock 10 months sooner (and hence be able to use on international trips early next year and next summer), there's also less depreciation from our SE 3 which we can sell now vs. a year from now. The resale value of the SE 3 isn't that great to begin with, but once the SE 4 goes on sale I'm sure the value of the SE 3 is going to tank.
So anyways, this is what one gains going from the SE 3 to 13:
-larger screen
-larger battery
-64GB vs 128GB (comparing base to base)
-better cameras (front as well as rear, also 2 cameras in the rear vs 1)
-MagSafe
-better resale value (especially after the SE 4 is released)
Now I just need to figure out what to do with my two Metro 13. They've been opened and activated but I didn't remove the factory screen protector. I may just hang onto them for a year and then sell them as "used, unlocked, like new".
From what I've heard that once the IMEI # of the phone is on StraightTalk, you cannot activate the phone on Total because both companies are the same?
I have seen your posts the last couple years and I respect your opinion on smartphones. Is this a good deal for a iphone, I just got a Mac Mini M4 a few days ago, and was thinking of getting an apple smartphone to pair with it. I bought a ipad a few months ago, so I am dipping my feet into Apple Eco-system. Thanks

It can be done.
