1. Use PayPal to get 7.5% back by logging into your PayPal account and search for promos, select StraightTalk. Will take you directly to StraightTalk site. That's what i did.
2. Chase card has 15% promo but caps at $15 discount, based on other users. I do not have Chase.
3. Purchase iPhone 13 with Silver plan. Must be Silver or higher to get $200 phone discount.
4. Do not select autopay to see PayPal payment option.
5. You can ship to different address if you're gifting it. They just need to understand the terms if they plan to unlock and use elsewhere or just stay with StraightTalk.
6. New phone needs to be activated, through StaightTalk online, for 60-day unlock countdown to begin. Phone does not need to be opened/used.
7. After the 30 plan expires, do not purchase another plan. Use it on WiFi or not at all.
8. After 60 days, phone will automatically unlock for any carrier.

Also, make sure that you activated your service through the ST line activation page … if the service hasn't been activated yet, it may only see Wi-Fi and won't let you send regular text messages. The full activation can also sometimes take some time, so try back a little later if still not working.
I should add that this was after I was able to order a single 13 using a 3rd ST account (different email, shipping address, phone number, but same name, billing address, and cc). Keeping my fingers crossed that they don't cancel this order as well!
Also, make sure that you activated your service through the ST line activation page … if the service hasn't been activated yet, it may only see Wi-Fi and won't let you send regular text messages. The full activation can also sometimes take some time, so try back a little later if still not working.
Strange thing is the iphone is not listed in my straight talk acct - like it's not listed at all period on the drop down on manage my lines. You'd think if you bought from the web site itself, activated properly, it would show up automatically.
Turned on the iphone, put in the sim card. I logged into apple acct. It shows me a phone number at least, and has the TW sign up on top. Cell bars present. Connected to wifi and wifi calling turned on. However can't call in or out (even with wifi off), and all texts cannot go in or out (including even to 611611)!!

Trying to add the line to the online acct (since it is not showing up automatically) requires a text to go thru to the phone for verification. Get an error (to receive!) "Text messaging service has been denied" on the iphone
Come on Straight talk. WTF. Looked up announcement 19. Troubleshooting: reboot the iphone, reset network settings. All to no avail.
Calls to their support line - no answer as closed. Will try in the morning, but wow the incompetence. Now I'm concerned that the sim card they provided was not registered properly (like there was no plan attached despite paying for it at time of purchase) and may affect the 2 month unlock since there is no plan attached..

I received the message 'Text messaging service has been denied' when I tried to send a text, and 'The number you have dialed has calling restrictions' when I tried to make a call. However, the next morning, both phones were back to normal, and I could make calls and send texts.
You might just need to wait and check again later.
