All current Tracfone , Straight Talk, Total Wireless, Simple Mobile ONLY operates and activates on the Verizon Network exclusively. That's cause Verizon bought all of them. So any new phone will unlock in 60 days from ALL of them.

This has been your PSA.

$262 otd to California. After reading 25 pages, here's my summary:

1. Use PayPal to get 7.5% back by logging into your PayPal account and search for promos, select StraightTalk. Will take you directly to StraightTalk site. That's what i did.
2. Chase card has 15% promo but caps at $15 discount, based on other users. I do not have Chase.
3. Purchase iPhone 13 with Silver plan. Must be Silver or higher to get $200 phone discount.
4. Do not select autopay to see PayPal payment option.
5. You can ship to different address if you're gifting it. They just need to understand the terms if they plan to unlock and use elsewhere or just stay with StraightTalk.
6. New phone needs to be activated, through StaightTalk online, for 60-day unlock countdown to begin. Phone does not need to be opened/used.
7. After the 30 plan expires, do not purchase another plan. Use it on WiFi or not at all.
8. After 60 days, phone will automatically unlock for any carrier.
9. Text "UNLOCK" to 611611 to confirm/see countdown.
10. Hope all goes well for us all.

You don't need to do anything. It should get unlocked after 60 days. Some rare case it didn't get unlocked, go https://www.tfwunlockpolicy.com/wps/portal/ and give the imei (and the phone number you got) and it will let you "reprocess" the unlock request online, if you still can't get it unlocked, you just call the phone number on that web page and they will unlock it for you. With that said, most time it will get unlocked automatically and you don't need to do anything.

When I log into my Straight Talk account and go to Manage Lines, I see both lines listed as "NEW - IMEI #" (with the actual IMEI #'s of the associated phones). I haven't received my phones yet - they are due to arrive tomorrow. Hopefully support is able to resolve your issue quickly - in my experience they are one of the better ones.
Strange. I received both my phones this morning, but before opening them I went to check ST.com under manage lines but it shows 0 lines in there.

Thank you OP. Bought 2 phones on 2 transactions. Used Microsoft Edge rewards both times which should be good for $30x2 and used CSR and FU both with 15% promo. Should be $45 total back per order which brings total to around $226 after $back. Seems like much less potential headache vs the 14 deal at Walmart plus spent close to $100 less per phone. Now that I've done this one can rest assured a $150 deal will come Black Friday!
Can you give some hint what is CSR and FU is?

These unlock automatically, no need to do anything other than make sure it's been activated and can receive calls/txts and data works. That's it. 60 days later it will become unlocked automatically.
That's great that they changed their policy then. It's been a couple of years since we had straight talk (we switched to T-mobile) and it was completely ridiculous dealing with them. Our phones never got unlocked so we just ended up throwing them away once we swapped to Tmobile.

I used paypal and paid with a chase card that has the offer active, does that mean I won't get the $15 from Chase?
Read the chase offer term: Offer expires 11/15/2024. Offer valid one time only. Offer only valid on purchases made directly with the merchant. Offer valid online only. Offer not valid on purchases made using third-party services, delivery services, or a third-party payment account (e.g., buy now pay later). Payment must be made on or before 11/15/2024.

Just to quickly ask, when we activate the iphones, we're to use the sim card they gave us? Not sure if we can do it without and save the 30 days down the line. Thanks
The imei and sim are linked together. If you activate it with a different sim it will never unlock.

Will it unlock automatically irrespective of weather I'm in US or take the phone to UK?
Unlocks on iphones happens on the apple servers. That means it will unlock from anywhere.

After the 60 days from activation passes, the TF/ST system triggers an update in the Apple database. Once turned on and activated, it will follow whatever policy is in the database. It happens pretty reliably, but there have been cases of people having to call TF/ST. You can check its SIM lock status here: https://imeicheck.com/simlock-iphone
Received phone yesterday, left unopen, and activated on ST website. On ST account page, shows 28 days remaining (one day counted down). Checked on the imeicheck site and my results show
Activation Status: Not Activated
Registered Device: No
Sim-Lock: Locked (as expected)
Does this site take more than one day to update the activation status? Will Activation Status continue to show Not Activated but then in 60 days, Sim_Lock will show as Unlocked? Would suck if open box in 60 days and was stilled locked to Straight Talk. TIA

A couple of questions.....

1. Is this activated with a physical SIM or eSIM?

2. If it is eSIM, can I add a physical SIM already activated from Visible before it is unlocked to run 2 numbers without an issue?

TIA

They have an online activation page … https://www.straighttalk.com/activation Make sure that you choose "New StraightTalk phone" … you don't want to register it as "Keep your own phone" Also, if you're keeping it sealed, I would make sure that the online account gets to the point of showing the line "Active" and "29 days of service remaining" (that can sometimes take a little time for the line to show as active, so you may need to check back later). And also make sure that the account shows the IMEI for your phone as the active device on the status page.
Just wanted to clarify, but we will have to use our 30 day plans to activate and start the whole unlocking phase? It's my first time, but from what I gathered. We activate the phone via straighttalk online/ call, start 30 day plan, then wait 30 days more afterwards? Is there a way to save the 30 day silver plan for later usage? Like if it was possible to activate without the silver plan. Thanks!

It sounded that people were having issues after receiving the phone and activating it. Can someone please provide a step-by-step instruction to activate the phone, without voiding the 60-day unlock goal? really appreciated!
I was thinking to use this new iPhone 13 as a WIFI device and a camera for a month or two, before I activate the phone for a month service, meanwhile I continue using my old iPhone until its cell service ends. But seeing all these activation problems reported today, I wonder if I should just activate the phone as soon as I receive it. Unlocking the phone in 60 days is critical!

It's a physical sim. Locked to tfw for 60 days, regardless of the physical or esim.

May I know where they are shipping it from .. if it's a central location or from individual cities 🤔.

Just curious and want to make sure I am home if it comes over the weekend. UPS usually avoids weekend delivery if I am not wrong
