All current Tracfone , Straight Talk, Total Wireless, Simple Mobile ONLY operates and activates on the Verizon Network exclusively. That's cause Verizon bought all of them. So any new phone will unlock in 60 days from ALL of them.

$262 otd to California. After reading 25 pages, here's my summary:

1. Use PayPal to get 7.5% back by logging into your PayPal account and search for promos, select StraightTalk. Will take you directly to StraightTalk site. That's what i did.
2. Chase card has 15% promo but caps at $15 discount, based on other users. I do not have Chase.
3. Purchase iPhone 13 with Silver plan. Must be Silver or higher to get $200 phone discount.
4. Do not select autopay to see PayPal payment option.
5. You can ship to different address if you're gifting it. They just need to understand the terms if they plan to unlock and use elsewhere or just stay with StraightTalk.
6. New phone needs to be activated, through StaightTalk online, for 60-day unlock countdown to begin. Phone does not need to be opened/used.
7. After the 30 plan expires, do not purchase another plan. Use it on WiFi or not at all.
8. After 60 days, phone will automatically unlock for any carrier.
9. Text "UNLOCK" to 611611 to confirm/see countdown.
10. Hope all goes well for us all.

You don't need to do anything. It should get unlocked after 60 days. Some rare case it didn't get unlocked, go https://www.tfwunlockpolicy.com/wps/portal/ and give the imei (and the phone number you got) and it will let you "reprocess" the unlock request online, if you still can't get it unlocked, you just call the phone number on that web page and they will unlock it for you. With that said, most time it will get unlocked automatically and you don't need to do anything.

activated the phone and it's forcing me to sing in with apple id to send unlock text. Is there away to bypass this?

Sounds like it may be trying to default to using iMessage. Try going to Settings / Messages and uncheck the iMessage option.

Also, make sure that you activated your service through the ST line activation page … if the service hasn't been activated yet, it may only see Wi-Fi and won't let you send regular text messages. The full activation can also sometimes take some time, so try back a little later if still not working.

Good news!! I just got an email that my accidental full-priced order from earlier today was successfully cancelled! Hooray!!! LOL!! Saves me from having to call support and make a return request!

I should add that this was after I was able to order a single 13 using a 3rd ST account (different email, shipping address, phone number, but same name, billing address, and cc). Keeping my fingers crossed that they don't cancel this order as well!

Thank you. It basically errors out on activation page but assign me a phone #. Will check again after few hrs.

Well I got the phone today. Tried to activate online. Activation online kinda worked (I think) - strange malformed page saying wait a couple of minutes.

Strange thing is the iphone is not listed in my straight talk acct - like it's not listed at all period on the drop down on manage my lines. You'd think if you bought from the web site itself, activated properly, it would show up automatically.

Turned on the iphone, put in the sim card. I logged into apple acct. It shows me a phone number at least, and has the TW sign up on top. Cell bars present. Connected to wifi and wifi calling turned on. However can't call in or out (even with wifi off), and all texts cannot go in or out (including even to 611611)!!

"We're sorry the number you have called has call restrictions. Announcement 19" Come on Straight talk/VZ, WTF?

Trying to add the line to the online acct (since it is not showing up automatically) requires a text to go thru to the phone for verification. Get an error (to receive!) "Text messaging service has been denied" on the iphone

Come on Straight talk. WTF. Looked up announcement 19. Troubleshooting: reboot the iphone, reset network settings. All to no avail.

Calls to their support line - no answer as closed. Will try in the morning, but wow the incompetence. Now I'm concerned that the sim card they provided was not registered properly (like there was no plan attached despite paying for it at time of purchase) and may affect the 2 month unlock since there is no plan attached..

Will see. But wow.

I couldn't even begin to count the number of cancellations I've seen mentioned in the various ST threads over the years, but this is honestly the first time I've seen a happy reply about it, lol. Glad it actually worked out well!

Activation is usually pretty quick, but one of my phones took several hours at one point. And I think I've occasionally seen others say that it would take a while before things started working. Yeah, it sucks, but I'd probably just check tomorrow and see if it's going.

When I log into my Straight Talk account and go to Manage Lines, I see both lines listed as "NEW - IMEI #" (with the actual IMEI #'s of the associated phones). I haven't received my phones yet - they are due to arrive tomorrow. Hopefully support is able to resolve your issue quickly - in my experience they are one of the better ones.

I had the exact same problem a few months ago when activating the Moto G Power 2024. Both phones were restricted after I activated them late at night.
I received the message 'Text messaging service has been denied' when I tried to send a text, and 'The number you have dialed has calling restrictions' when I tried to make a call. However, the next morning, both phones were back to normal, and I could make calls and send texts.
You might just need to wait and check again later.

Just to quickly ask, when we activate the iphones, we're to use the sim card they gave us? Not sure if we can do it without and save the 30 days down the line. Thanks
