It is really easy to clear the direct deposit requirements because Paypal and Zelle inbound transfers count as an EDD. However, DO NOT, and I repeat DO NOT use Zelle to transfer money out. It is very common to be put on a fraud hold if you transfer money out using Zelle. Transfer money out by using a trusted hub account to pull funds. If you don't have a hub account, then wait after the bonus posts then try to do a external transfer.
What is a hub account? A Hub Bank Account is simply a bank account that will make it easy to electronically transfer money into and out of your other accounts. Within your bank account, you can do an electronic funds transfer service that allows you to initiate bank-to-bank transfers (known as ACH transfer).
Their banking system is horrible. Most likely they will flag your account after your first transfer and will block all the money. You won't find an official looking phone number because they have dozens of them. There have been many scams where you get mail posing as Citibank and even their official mails aren't that convincing. I had a hard time getting my money back and going back and forth with them. I closed my account as soon as I got it back. Never again

Awesome I did something similar.
Zelle:
11/22 $3000
11/27 $2000
EDD:
11/27 $1000
Confirmed all the deposits with the rep met the requirements but didn't confirm if funds need to remain in the account prior to bonus posting.
Did you keep any or all funds in the account prior to bonus posting?

This tells me you need to leave the amount till bonus hits... I may be wrong

I'm thinking about opening the account to take advantage of the $450 bonus. Is there a section during the account opening process where you input your incoming zelle information or do you set that up after the countess open and active?
Did you set up your zelle through the app?
The Citibank set a daily limit for how much money you can receive into your account via zelle?
Is there any confirmation regarding the $450 promo after the account is fully opened origin did you have to reach out to a customer service representative to confirm this?

I send this week several payments with Zelle. Now I have $8,000.
Let see in some weeks I get it, but anyway, I associated my payments for direct deposit.
Transfer from another bank (online ACH) to citi does that count as direct deposit?
At what point did you find out during the application process if you qualified for the offer of $325 vs $450?
Offer is the same so you just have to apply for it from the promo page -- the actual bonus amount you get paid depends on the electronic deposits that you make during the first 90 days
$3k total deps = $325 bonus
$6k total deps = $450 bonus
Deposit at least two "Enhanced Direct Deposits" (EDDs) totaling at least $3000 or $6000 within 90 days of account opening
Your $325 or $450 cash bonus will be credited within 30 days of the account completing all required activities

Ahh this helps. I appreciate the clarification. Did you have to set up enhanced direct deposit such as zelle during the application process? I contacted Citibank branches in my area and the only offer they have is for $325. They're aware of the $450 offer online but it's not something they have in branch .

Nothing to setup during the app -- you can do it later

Was there anything during the application process that confirmed the bonus offer since as a code? I know the landing page has the general offer but was wondering if there's something else more concrete during the application process. I'm hoping to take a screenshot of it just in case I don't receive the $450 bonus which is why I'm torn between the in branch $325 vs $450 online. At least with the branch I can go back to the banker who opened the account for me. Thank you again.

Nope, just use the offer link to apply -- print as PDF the bonus offer info page
Once you select a checking account and click "apply now" -- you can copy/paste the app's URL in Notepad (the app URL has a promo code in it)
Somehow got flagged yesterday with questions from both Citi and Wells Fargo. I called Citi to activate Debit Card, and did not have a pin (they never sent one), and from Wells Fargo as I did a Zelle transfer to Citi. Citi employee transferred me to another line option 6, which is New Acct Fraud Block. Citi employee at option 6 could not verify me with specific phone number as I could not receive text, and instead said that they were sending something out to the house. They sure make this painful.

I did a couple of Zelle transfers, totaling a little over $6k. And, the bonus was deposited in about 3 business days.
It is worth noting that my zip code was eligible only for $300 bonus, though.
