How much better are Xbox controllers over PlayStation for pc? I've had a PlayStation setup for idk the last 20 ish years + always stayed away from Xbox as I didn't want to have to buy batteries every "three" days

They are plug and play. No messing around with DS4, but I think the Dual sense PS5 is also now plug and play. Since most games don't support the DS controller's features, I picked the Xbox controller.

Not only is it cheaper, but the battery is replaceable, meaning you can use standard AA, swap in a rechargeable, or get a rechargeable kit to make it like the PS5. No need to worry about longevity other than that all console manufacturers include sticks that will eventually drift.

As others have mentioned, just buy a set of 4 rechargeable AA batteries and a charger. That way you've always got 2 ready to go.

Doing a quick search online, it looks like PlayStation controllers have ~1560 mAh rechargeable batteries built in. Standard Eneloops, the crowd favorite rechargeable AA, are rated at 2100 mAh. A pair of those would batteries would provide 2.5x the capacity of what is built into a PlayStation controller.

Best controller for PC... and gaming in general IMHO.

The price is pretty normal and too high still... These need to be like $20-25 to be a deal.

I remember Costco had white xbox controllers for like $22 last (or the one before) Black Friday.

Not if you have bluetooth and dont mind the connection (I use it for non competitive games and its fine). The newer xbox controllers have the basic connection and then if you press the connect button again it switches to a bluetooth mode, and I believe you can use them wired with a usb c cable.
