I have two jacks, lots of stands, and these ramps. I almost never use the ramps, and they take up a ton of space. To get enough clearance, I had to put wood underneath them the last time I used them, which makes their added stability pointless. I paid $25 + tax, and I regret the purchase.

Now, I just use them as an emergency support to back up jacks and the stands, but then some much smaller fixed stands would do the same job taking up less space.

just get a jack and stands... much more versatile and takes up less floor space in the garage/shed when not in use.

If you only paid $25, then I doubt you bought Rhino Ramps. There are plenty of generic ramps in that price range that are "low profile" and only a few inches off the ground. I own these exact ramps and use them for oil changes on numerous different vehicles. One of my cars has a low front air dam, so I have to use two 1x10 scrap wood pieces in front of the ramps (not under) to cut down the approach angle and get the vehicle high enough off the ground prior to going up the ramp (otherwise it scrapes slightly). That said, these ramps are more than plenty high enough for most basic front end maintenance… at least in my experience.

Also - this is a great coupon. Take a look at other deals on Gearwrench sockets, if you're in the market. Personally I picked up a Mann oil filter and an extra oil pan (also from FloTool) - everything was 25% off.

How high are you monsters lifting your cars for an oil change?! This is plenty of space to roll under, drain the pan, swap the filter.

Seriously. I've used these ramps to change oil on a S2000.

If you DIY tire rotation and brake job, still going to need jack and stands. This is good for people that only do their own engine and transmission oil changes. Guess you could back into it for differential oil too.
Never used this, but I can see the convenience if that's all you do.

It's always a pain to get these lined up, have them not slide as I pull forward, and twice I've even had the vehicle come crashing down as they shift unexpectedly while driving up. It's nerve wracking to use them, doesn't save any time, and you really should have jack stands in place as a backup anyway. Plus for brakes or tire rotations you can't use them. There is no upside, I'm putting mine out on the curb.

In for one, thanks!

Project Farm [youtube.com] recently did a review of these and others, and while they all far exceeded their weight, these were the only ones that stack into each other for less space; making it a sure choice for me. If you don't care to stack them, the ones from Harbor Freight [harborfreight.com] were a solid choice instead.

I bought a pair of these once (yes, the genuine ones). They did very little in terms of sufficient clearance. They might work for oil changes if your vehicle doesn't ride low already. If you have a car with low clearance then forget it. I same-day returned them.
