I just got two of these delivered yesterday. I've bought many Metro phones in the past and this is the first time I could not find sim cards in either of the packages that were sent to me. I use T-Mobile and can confirm the phone works fine with my T-Mobile sim card I just popped into this Edge. Which means I might not even bother following up with Metro about the missing sim cards. Hopefully the T-Mobile sim card support doesn't go away with some future update.

Edit: it's a Metro eSIM that just popped up on the phone during setup!

Can't speak about the other carriers, but on Metro the bootloader unlock option is available in the developer settings and the unlock code can be obtained from Motorola. I never went through with unlocking the bootloader as there are no custom roms and on Pixel phones when rooting OTA updates did not work.
Can you relock the bootloader?

Never mind, you can only unlock the bootloader but that is 100% useless. You still cannot unlock the network subsidy.

If you just need a mini computer for some simple web browsing and video, this is good. You just connect a monitor with it and you can use Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. That's something special with edge
Thats really all i want. Clear and Crisp voice which after many years of using Motorola Pure 4G with Android 13 i have found Motorola phones calls have trouble with voice clarity. My phone automatically starts dialing itself without permission. Its really old but this phone has been good to me. I bought it in 2019 before covid. Updates were long gone in 2022.
I don't watch much of videos but i love if i can hook it up with a monitor and keyboard. Is that special offering for Motorola or there are other phones very similar to Motorola.

hows the phone ? camera, speed etc. I'm currently on g stylus and lost faith in moto.
I am hesitant to use Motorola phones. Its longevity is questionable.

Quite a few bands support similar feature but usually they only enable this feature on their top series. As far as I know, Samsung, Motorola, Huawei, One plus all have this feature on some of their phones

Thanks great info. I just wish this edge had a stylus. I have the g stylus 2024. I might just stay with the stylus and hope the 2025 version has wired connection also....

Your links are so helpful I appreciate it!

They made robust devices few years ago. Not sure why they went downhill.

This phone was verified that it worked with the T-Mobile sim card regardless of unlock or not. Did you have Motorola Edge 2024 from Metro?

Is your T-Mobile SIM card from the post-paid plan or prepaid plan? Many people confirmed on Slickdeals that it worked with the T-Mobile sim card. It will Not work with all T-Mobile MVNOs except MetroPCS. You are the 1st to say that it didn't work with the T-Mobile SIM card unless Metro changes the software on it.

It should qualify as a post paid plan. I have this sim card for over a decade. It's a simple plan- plan that I used in T-Mobile. It's quite strange. I had the Stylus 2023. That took 180 days as well. So I assume and it was confirmed with this edge that Motorola doesn't work with Metro by T-Mobile. But for some reason all the Samsung phones (Metro) that I bought works with my T-Mobile Sim card.

Now you confirmed that it did not work with your T-Mobile SIM card from a post-paid plan. I believe you. I think they changed the software. It happened to Motorola G Stylus 2024 too. By the way it takes 360 days to get unlocked from Metro. No more 180 days since May 8th this year. Metro changed the rule.

Yes but strangely enough when you hit unlock on this phone it says 180 days to unlock.
