I asked Cooler Master CS, and the pink/purple was from a previous iteration of the product. Retailers just didn't bother updating the photos.

Not sure ... I ordered this a couple of weeks ago and the one I received has the 5-band cable with the gray one on the left, unlike the photo in this listing which shows a purple cable. I threw it in an old system with a GTX 980 Ti just for looks ... it works great! It was a tad tricky to install, mainly because you have to choose between pre-mounting your GPU to the bracket and then fighting it to plug in the ribbon cable, or do it the other way around and fight the bracket's GPU socket.

Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase but it is a bit tricky to install if you're impatient.

Same product. Not sure why, since they're both sold by Amazon.

glad to see they made it compatible with m-atx cases that don't have 7-slot space (still requires 4-slot though?)

I have used these imo they are pretty big for a matx case.

Too bad the white one isn't on sale too! I don't need it, but if it was the white one, I'd splurge! Big Grin

While definitely more expensive, the white variant is also on sale for $32. Still a decent price for a good quality mount + PCIe 4.0 riser cable.

If I remember correctly people said they had issues with the intake fans on their GPUs being too close to the side panels on some cases when I was looking into getting one last year.

They sell modded panels with laser cut designs on Etsy and some other sites if that's an issue for you.

The riser cable alone is going to run you at least $20 so I'm thinking about just picking one up for that.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get an adapter or mod the cable some way so you can use it with an upright mount kit?

$110 for the kit is pretty ridiculous.

I'm completely newbie on this, is it aesthetic the only reason to use a vertical holder? having an "extra" cable does that affect the GPU's performance?

What's the purpose of this? Are we going back to 30 years ago?

people like to mount their gpus vertically...for aesthetics and it avoids sag
