The ANC-related features don't work nearly as well without silicone tips. The pressure sensation that's common to ANC headphones is more pronounced than I've experienced from a new model of premium headphones since maybe 2010. I actually find it fairly unpleasant, especially compared to the Pros.
My compromise solution (that I actually like pretty well) is to use it in "adaptive" mode. It only turns on ANC when environmental noise gets loud enough to interfere with what you're listening to. So these end up being more comfortable for me than the Pros when I'm doing something that is only intermittently loud, like doing dishes or going for a walk on a gusty day.
All that said, I recommend that anyone who doesn't mind silicone tips pick the Pros over these. Only weirdos like me who are sensitive to microphonics (the sound of silicone tips rubbing inside the ear) or whose ears are too small for Pros should look at these.
