Considering not everyone has Costco. It would be a good option since the black color is now $199 (before it was $229)

If you have Costco you get it for $170 with a better return policy if anything goes wrong with it (ever?). You do get a soft case. But a hard case is $17-18 on Amazon to have 2 (soft and hard)

I'll do this for the extra protection and get hard when I travel! 😉

… wait this isn't the 100 pack of condoms post? My bad…😅

Debating this with hard case at $199 vs. Costco with soft case for $169.

$30 difference seems to be worth ensuring a safe/hard case included. Thoughts?
I got the Costco deal about a year ago at the same price. If you're carrying in a backpack the soft case offers minimal protection. Got a hard case on eBay for $20.

I really wouldn't consider these a deal, even with a hard case (maybe with inflation, but than you still have the Costco deal). The refurbs get a better once over than the new ones do, so less likely to get a channel imbalance and with ebay you get 2 year All State protection. Safe the money and get better earpads. I just got mine from Costco and I'm happy, I got to try the Sony XM4 for a few days now and I'm not to impressed, the Bose software is just way more straight forward and the buttons way more reliable than the touch on the XM4. I will admit the ANC on the XM4 is a bit better, but considering I slept through international flights with my old QC15, the QC(2023) should be just fine for me this holiday season on my flights.

Is it's quality worth twice the price of the current soundcore q45 on sale for around 70 bucks with costco?

Amex also has $30 back on spends of $200 or more at Bose (ymmv) which makes this an awesome deal. It's always the total amount including tax at Amex so no need to buy any filler to make it cross $200

Create a new account with Bose and receive a 10% off coupon.

There's also a $30 off $200 Amex offer for Bose.

How's this vs the Sony XM4 that go on sale?
I just tested this against the XM4. The Bose has a much better sound profile, but the build quality of the Sony is nicer and has a hard case. Personally, the sound quality is priority. Also, I rather have physical buttons over the Sony touch interface.

I bought mine off Amazon yesterday. I am a Costco member and one is 3 miles from my home. Returned my 3 week old Beats Studio Pro. The Beats has nice sound, great pairing with my Apple devices, but the pressure just hurt my ears after a few hours.

I went with Amazon because:
1. Hard case. Would be over $ 30 with shipping for the genuine hard case. That's why Costco prices are lower.
2. I wanted to use my Amex Gold which has excellent purchase protection for 90 days, including theft, and a solid one year extended warranty, backed by Amex, not a third party. It was delivered less than 2 hours after I ordered it. Easy setup with my Apple devices.

A side bonus. I googled Amex/ Amazon promo. A link popped up to activate 15% off up to $ 100 by using my Amex. I also had an Amex offer worth another $ 12 using my Amex at Amazon. Redeemed both. That's $ 27 off, bringing it to $ 3 more than Costco. Also, with the holiday season, you can return it until late January.

$200 is a little expensive for disposable headphones (battery will eventually lose charge).
I've had mine for 4 years. Only debating a replacement due to peeling and scratches.
