For people subscribing for the first time, I'd recommend signing up as soon as the discount is live so that next year there's not much overlay in your subscription expiring and the discount going live again, and if you don't auto renew this year's sub you'd most likely be able to grab the discount next year too.

The game library on the Premium is a joke, 90% of the games are trash you can get in the $1.99 - $5.99 discount bin at GameStop! Also, the collection doesn't rotate much either, same trash all year long. Service should cost $5 a month for the garbage they offer. I won't be renewing this year, service is hyped-up like hell and it just wasn't worth it.

For the price of the annual plan, I can dive into GameStop's clearance bin of physical and digital games and buy roughly enough games to keep me busy playing all year long.

Total rip-off. Sony has altogether lost me as a customer. Why is anyone paying these asinine prices for a service that blows compared to what it was when it cost half as much, or less?

I have 0 regrets cancelling my essential this last April. Im not sure what Sony is smoking, but $64 on sale is robbery. Gamepass on pc is a much better deal in my situation. I enjoy my ps5 just as much as my pc, but this aint it.

It may be time I stop paying for PS+ and stop buying multiplayer games on Playstation. I have nearly 3 years of xbox game pass ultimate stacked up. Time to buy multiplayer and sports games on xbox I guess. I already get the call of duty games on there and MLB the show with my subscription anyways.

They only thing I am really annoyed about is stupid NBA 2k doesn't have cross progression between consoles. So all my progress gets lost when my PS+ sub runs out.

TBH even $64 for PS+ is more than it should be. I probably would have got it since my stupid head would think at least it's a deal. If they want me to pay full price so bad then they will get $0 instead.

Likewise, looking at mine, I subscribed to PS Plus Extra last year for $101 on Dec 9 and I'm seeing the same deal for renewing, expires Dec 2. My account is currently active, so this is a renewal.

I think OP's description / the automated Staff Post is misleading. This deal is available to current subscribers looking to keep their current plan. You do not need a new account.

Thank you to whoever posted the Costco giftcard link. It's $90 for $100 worth of giftcards, so that will bring my renewal down by $10.

What Sony has you fooledv with is that a ps5 uses the pc equivalent of an AMD Radeon RX 6700. Those are like $200. So you are getting games designed for a really old card. Yes flawlessly for PC video tech that came out in 2021. The $175 a year saved on a subscription service, would pay for a lot of games with video quality that a ps5 cant even reproduce. You can even use your ps5 controller on a PC, if that's your thing.

However, I'm weirdly happy people who are okay paying money to use their friends list, etc, etc aren't on Steam, or other PC services as they would start paying subscriptions for free (paid for be the software companies) things and would and ruin it for everyone (like console gaming companies). So, if you like Sony and subscription services, it's a free-ish market, go where you feel best. For those that don't, I'll see you on my free friends list.

So I used to have ps now and ps plus the converted to premium, but when that ran out they've grandfathered me into $80 for premium plan this year, which is a decent deal. I've read that some other people are like this too and i do t want to touch that but if that stops next year, this would be a better deal.
