Once the phone is delivered you need to activate the device , at which point the number port in process will begin . By default the auto refill is disabled in account , but it won't hurt to check and confirm . Once 30 days service is completed , total wireless will remind you to refill to continue your service , which you can ignore . The device will be unlocked once 60 days is over

I got the phone in the mail today. I ported over a Google Voice number when I bought it, and just activated the phone successfully. Just in case anyone needs some information, here's what I filled out when they asked about the existing carrier I'm using. I don't have the screen up anymore, so I don't remember the exact labels:

Select "Other" for the carrier. I didn't see anything for Google.
The account number is your 10-digit Google Voice number.
For the address, use Google's address:

1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy.
Mountain View, CA 94043

For the pin, you need to have a voicemail pin. If you don't have one:

Go to https://voice.google.com. You might have to be on a computer or access the desktop version of the site.
Go to Settings -> Voicemail -> Call to listen

If this is unchecked, check it and it'll ask you to put in a pin.
If this is already checked, you should see a button to reset the pin if you forgot it.

A couple other notes I wanted to put out there:

There isn't any sort of branding when booting up the phone. I noticed that the A15 from the Straight Talk deal had a splash screen for the carrier when booting.
There wasn't anything branding related until I was going through the setup process. There was a setting for TracFone Wireless Device Pulse terms and conditions. I'm wondering if this screen still shows up once unlocked and is factory reset. Does anyone happen to know?

Overall, it was a pretty smooth process for me. Not bad for a $65 phone.

You dont have to maintain the service beyond the one month which you pay for during the order. Device will be unlocked within 60days of activation, so technically you are paying for the device in the form of Plan payment for a month and then some tax.

This is not new. Also if you are anyway going to get the id verification done via 3rd party (which is mandatory with Total to get the deal), the Motorola Edge 2024 is a much better device at the same price IMHO.
Edge is Not really better lol... And it's going for $130 at the moment.

Looks like the A54 is also free with the $65 plan. Any thoughts between the A54 and the A35. Looks like they have the same CPU and GPU.

A35 is slightly bigger, and has better glass for the screen. It will also get 1 more year of updates since it's newer. A54 has better cameras.

I just placed an order successfully. I used a Google Voice number, which I just created minutes ago, and did the verification without issues. I'm not sure what happens after all this. I forgot to unlock the Google Voice number, so did that after placing the order. Not exactly sure when that all should have been done, since I've never moved to another carrier.

To unlock the Google Voice number for porting, it's $3. I couldn't find it on my phone at a glance, but you can also do it here, which is what I did: http://www.google.com/voice/unlock

If you're not seeing the phone for free, it might be because you didn't pick the right plan. It has to be the Total 5G+ Unlimited plan for $65, and not the $55 one. I tried the $55 plan at first too because it said it was eligible for the phone discount, but in the end, the phone wasn't free. So I switched to the $65 one, like the post originally said, and it was all good after that.

Total after taxes and fees was just about $85. The Chase offer will get me $15 back, and a CB site is currently 14% back, although I only got back $8.31. But in the end, it's about $62.

I am not entirely sure why, but for some reason even after going through the entire verification process, in the checkout stage it says new line instead of showing any indication I am porting in. I dont know maybe that is the problem? Like it is not letting me port my GV number in?

Yeah, I'm not sure. There were just 3 steps at first for me.
  1. Choose Your Color: They only have blue.
  2. Choose payment option: Only one option for Free Device.
  3. Check if your number is eligible: This is where I added the GV number.
After that is when I went through the verification process. When I think back on it, I didn't really ever see or pick any options in regards to a line, as far as I can recall.

Verified my account but each time I add the device and the required plan, I keep getting the regular price. Been many weeks how to resolve this? Contact support they said will update you, never heard back since.
My account never purchased a phone but my family's account did and 2, can't seem to get it to have the "port in" price on their account either. Creating new accounts say your identity has been associated to another account...

Are you adding the $65 plan? It is full price on the $55 plan.
