In the same boat, one recently got static only (left bud) when it is in noisy environments (possible noice cancellation issue), but has lasted me around 4 years. If they are only offering 30 id rather keep it until it does or have as a backup.

I just gave my v1 to my daughter to save me the agony. Good gracious! (BTW, I talked to BB online chat and got the $10 price adjustment today.)
Glad I passed on the trade in. They pushed back on my Apple Watch trade in a year ago. Ultimately they took it. No reason not to but there was some required debating for a few mins.
