Just returned our gateway this am. After a big outage earlier this week, this AM we woke to no internet. Tmo pushed an update to our gateway and bricked it. Our billing cycle starts on the 20th. Today is the 21st, they said they will cancel it next bill cycle - $46.45/mo for a service that barely worked and now I owe an extra month for a service I can't even use. Before the outage and before they bricked our gateway, it was pretty rough to use it. We could see speeds in the 70mpbs range at most, but it would drop and doing a zoom call across it was not feasible.

Did this last year for a free 43" Fire TV and fought them for 6 months and never got the TV rebate I followed all rules on. Be careful

A 4 series 43" is more of the "current" model, while they still sell the 2 series for ~80$ less at 150$. Just a general idea on value / recency of what you are getting.

Too slow for work from home in SF bay area. Gets like 10-20 Mbps during work hours. Night it's 120mbps. But it's too unreliable so I switched back to Xfinity yesterday.

It's too bad it doesn't work well in my area.

I wonder how this compares to Dish's discontinued 5G hotspot. Which is absolutely abysmal in my area. Less than 10 megs in peak hour times.

Been using the service for about 5 weeks. Get about 500/60 Mbps speeds. Latency is higher than cable but we don't notice it in real life.

Use it for work/ streaming/ browsing with no issues so far. Much cheaper than Xfinity for us and meets our needs.

While I agree this service is very location specific it is worth trying if you want to save money.

I have the GL-iNet GL-X3000 router/modem and benched the Arcadyan KVD21, but it is $400. So far I think it was worth it. SDX75 modem (vs X62 in the GL-X3000) would be even better, but $700+. Not for everyone. Chester Cheetah is a popular one. Matter of fact you could just skip TMHI altogether add a line to a magenta max+ plan and get better priority than TMHI, but both are against TMHI TOS of course. I have considered it. I do use eero Pro 6 in bridge mode after the GL-X3000.
I'm using a Metro phone plan in a router (Mofi rm520), no issues. Suncomm routers from a place like Alibaba are an option, probably what I'd do today if I needed one (options under $300). I got Metro because I didn't care to run a credit check for just internet (didn't see a point for something "small", never have run credit for any utility or small purchase other than vehicle or large equipment).

But, considering it for $300 plus cashback.... I'd just get a cheaper phone line, but from Metro, they require a store visit (320 miles round trip), none of the options for the $25 line, or tablet, let me purchase online or by phone (last I tried anyway). From what they said, the setup I use is the same priority as the home internet. I've had no slowdowns at any time of day, over 10 miles from the tower (Waveform antenna), rural area with houses averaging miles apart, town is 15 miles away with about 200 people. I get about 100Mbps out here, compared to 130 next to the tower, so, not too bad (no UC on the tower, town with about 3,000 people 30 miles away has UC, average about 230Mbps there). Tmobile came into the area for the first time a couple years ago, so new installed equipment on the towers.

Fiber is coming next summer they said, they did the site survey. The grant/funds they are using says 100/20. If it matches town pricing it will be $100 (or $80 for the slowest), but I don't know if that includes the required landline phone (which they've always said it was mandatory with any internet service they offer).

Same thing. Fought tooth and nail since last year and I never received the TV.
Why are people taking the TV, take the money.

As far as speed, check hotspot speed with phone first. It is what it is. At half the price of comcrap, it was fine for me.

Only quirk is that the Ethernet port is only 150mbs while WiFi is 700….

Getting Tmo promotions is very difficult. I've still not received my phone lines promo rebates since 8 months. CS is helpless . Their processes are bs.

Anyone using this as a hotspot in the car?
They closed that loophole just recently. You used to be able to do that but not now.

Me too. Package delivered Monday. I have not even activated it yet. Today, I saw the bill of $60. I have autopay setup and expected the bill to be $55. Regardless, I thought our account is post-paid. This looks like prepaid to me. The pay period for this service is from December to January.

When I signed up for mine years ago I remember there being two plan options - one with taxes included, one without. It let me change to the one with taxes included. Not sure if that is what is happening to you.
