That's impossible, how can I mail it and have them receive it the next day? They should have an expiration date at least a week or two away, so that I can first receive and activate the new Pixel 9, copy stuff over (if needed), delete all my personal info from the Pixel 6 ("You will remove all Device data and personal information, passwords, security software, or user locks."), then ship it to them and leave time for shipping carrier to get it to them.
So I reluctantly backed out at the final step.

I had like 4 Samsung phones in a row before getting a Pixel 7 pro last year. I regretted it for about 2 days while I got used to the swiping and lack of a back button (you can actually change the settings to go old-school with a back button if you want, but you shouldn't). You pretty quickly get used to it and then realize how garbage Samsung's software is in comparison. Take the plunge.
Thanks. I guess my concern isn't so much that I retroactively won't qualify for the promo...it's more the "what if next month T-mobile decides to end my old plan and raise my rates 90%. Am I going to owe them $800 for a phone I didn't really need, when I decide to terminate my relationship with Tmobile?"
