I have a Pixel 6 to trade in that I bought from T-Mobile 3 years ago, so the website already has the IMEI. I went all the way through the checkout process, everything looked good. But then I carefully read the Trade In Terms document. It said the Trade In expires on 11/23/2024 (tomorrow). If you then click on the link in that document that takes you to https://www.t-mobile.com/commerce...d-t-c.html , it says "If you fail to return your Device by the trade-in expiration date, you may be required to pay back any value or credit advanced to you." It also says "...if you sell your Device online or over the phone, we will honor the Offer Price if: (1) your Device is received by us by the Offer Price trade-in expiration date."
That's impossible, how can I mail it and have them receive it the next day? They should have an expiration date at least a week or two away, so that I can first receive and activate the new Pixel 9, copy stuff over (if needed), delete all my personal info from the Pixel 6 ("You will remove all Device data and personal information, passwords, security software, or user locks."), then ship it to them and leave time for shipping carrier to get it to them.
So I reluctantly backed out at the final step.
This deal worked on my Simple Choice plan -- via T-App, traded in S21FE, total was the $35 DCC + state tax.
You'll actually be fine with the trade in. Just placed my order and this is verbatim from my confirmation email from T-Mobile:

What's next?
Once that cool new device is in your hands, get started on these important next steps.
Trade in your old device
Once your new Pixel 9 Pro ships, you'll have 30 days to send back your current Google GVU6C Pixel 7 5G 128GB White - T-Mobile in good condition to retain your promotional value of $800.00.

You can only drop off in Tmobile corporate store. Not the ones that are individually owned. Find a Tmobile location on website and those are the corporate stores.

I've done several trade-ins, both via mail and in store. I much prefer the store experience. The last drop off I've done was a few months ago when I got my kids iPhone 13s.

Thanks will try!

I'm in the same boat, have an s22 plus and really considering jumping ship. I did goto the local store and played with the 9 pro. Besides the obvious differences in android layout, etc, didn't appear much different. Waiting to hear what others say. The screen on the pro 9 was definitely significantly better then my s22 plus, incredibly bright. Menu and scrolling through the phone also seemed alot faster.

I've been an Android user forever, generally use flagship phones, and have had both high end Samsung and Pixel phones. I much prefer the Pixel to the Samsung - it's just an easier, cleaner experience to use the "pure" Android rather than Android with the Samsung stuff tacked on. It should be an easy transition, and Google has made migrating from one Android phone to another very straightforward. Also, the Pixel camera is just awesome!

But, but, but the Samsung Galaxy UI have tons of free cool themes through the Samsung store.

From the Google Pixel, you have to use another app from the Google's Play store like the Nova launcher to apply these themes.

Same. Great deal, under $300 including tax and fees after trading in my pixel 7 pro and upgrading. Since I have a crazy cheap magenta plan and most deals don't apply, this is probably about the as good as it's going to get for a $1200 retail phone. Wasn't expecting to upgrade anytime soon, but can't pass this up.

Same here. My pixel 7 is going strong and i have no intention to spend extra money, but for $300 i can trade in for $800 and pay $300. Omg. What should i do

I've already upgraded 3 lines and still have another pixel 7 lying around. Is there any reason not to upgrade the last one? I am not leaving T-Mobile anytime soon.
im in the same position, but i've decided not to bite

1) i dont need it

2) this promotion includes pixel 6. theoretically, next year they will likely include pixel 7

I recently got a refurbished s22 from one of the deals here for a family member. Might as well trade in that device for the p9 now.

be careful here. if you're trying to upgrade a line, then you need to specifically choose that line+phone

otherwise it assumes you're trying to add a new line

Well, if that's true, then I don't see any point in trying to take it to a store. I'd rather box it up and know the condition when I send it off than leave it for some random employee at the store that doesn't care what condition it arrives in.
Yeah, that might be better and risky too. I dropped mine off at the store before they were closing. She marked my brand new trade in as cracked screen. I didn't realize it until I got home. It was too late and they couldn't do anything about it.
I also did my own shipping as well and they said my phone has water damaged. The phone has never touched water and they claimed that was the problem . lol
The best option is to trade it in the store and take the $35 hit.

Or get the regular 9 and spend less. That's what I did. Traded in regular 7 for regular 9 and paid $66 in taxes. You might pay less depending on where you live.
