It's not that great of a deal IMO, unless you really require a smaller footprint in the shape of a 15.6" laptop.
For the same price you can get the G16 with a much better 240Hz QHD+ display. Yes, the RAM is half of this, but you can upgrade the RAM in the future but not the display.

P.S. Idk why OP got this instead of the G16 for 3D rendering as I think the better display would have benefitted more.

Feel like the G16 7630 is a better option at $1170 since you're getting the 4070 and a better display. Same RAM too.

16GB doesn't cut it for me anymore. I could upgrade it, but that would invalidate the warranty and we had a hard limit of $1000.

I missed the G16 because I was looking specifically for 32GB.

A 4070 is obviously better, but also 270 more.

No, the G16 includes 32gb ram, the original thread title had it wrong.

I would agree, for a $1200 budget, the G16 is the one you want.

Historically, Black Friday was a day to get good deals. It now seems like, sites like Dell will do a whole week, probably for site traffic, delivery expectation reasons.

My advice is, have a budget, do your research, read reviews and don't compromise for what looks like a good deal and if it's not in a Black Friday sale, it might be in a Cyber Monday sale, because that's all that happens, the deals change, so wait, also, deal alerts on Slickdeals can be helpful and if you're looking on Amazon camelcamelcamel do the same thing.

Seems like a great deal to me if you are sticking to a budget. Better things for more money will always be a thing. Personally, I rolled my dice on the Acer refurbished sale on eBay recently.

Nice find.

Pretty standard for gaming laptops to not have a touchscreen.

On yhe contrary, for my purposes the better screen has little value but more ram is everything.
