You need to keep Cricket service for 6 consecutive months, then Cricket will unlock it

For anyone who wants it actually unlocked at some point, it will cost you $100 + $120 + $120, which includes 6 months of cricket service. Two months of unlimited and four months of the $30 5gb plan.

Not bad at all if you need a decent new phone + plan. Cricket is also rock-solid as far as quality of service is concerned.

If you are on Cricket already, you can get it cheaper, because they only require 1 month when adding a new line.
I don't know about the activation, but you can just insert your current sim card and it will work.
You can still unlock the phone, just insert your current sim and keep service for 6 months, after that, you can contact Cricket and they will give you the unlock code, I have done it a few times.

Cricket require you to have active service for 6 months plus the sim has to be in the phone. They will deny you unlock if you use the sim in a different phone.

I don't know if you guys noticed but it says no high definition is available on any plan. What does this actually mean?

When the phone arrives, can you just not activate it and insert your existing sim card on the new phone (so keeping 4 lines without calling in and canceling the new line)? Will the new line just drop off without any charges since you never call in to activate?
No the service auto activate after 7 days I think it said that one the last page either at checkout or confirmation of order.

I have 4 lines for $100 plan and am interested in buying this phone or the iphone 13. How much is the iphone 13 if adding it as 5th line ?

the deal is lukewarm

the trade in iphone 12 from metro 100 dollars for pixel 9
was a far better deal earlier this yr with BB.
in comparison this should be for 50-100 dollars instead as its a downgrade

just an fyi my oneplus 8gb phone with lower camera specs have far better reception and wifi than pixel or iphone its one of the best signals around.

I would definitely consider one plus if you want good reception
if you dont care about the camera.
but like most we all do.

I honestly don't know. When I last checked my cricket account, the 5th line showed up already. Unfortunately I haven't been able to access the app today, says there's a server issue. So I'm assuming I'll be billed for 5 lines next time. I just want the 5th line gone ASAP so I'm calling in as soon as I get the phone.
Thanks, can you let us know back here how it went after you have done this? Would you still be charged for 1 month ($25 or $40 or $60) for the 5th line before they will allow you to drop that line?
Last time when I did the promotion for a new line, they wouldn't let me downgrade the line until 1 month later.

You dont have to keep it active with Cricket. We left the phone without any service and it got unlocked after 6 months.

Same and I have about 4 different iPhones and Android phones with them and all were sold on eBay unlocked after 6 months without requiring to be active for all 6 months. The T&C is there to scare you but the reality is that they cannot change their contracted out company's backend software that automatically unlock the phones with a countdown timer.

Can you please elaborate on which phone you did that and when because Cricket usually requires 6 months of consecutive active months to allow you to unlock

As an existing Cricket customer, by adding 5th line with new number, total with taxes came up as $146.6. Not bad at all.. Thanks op

Does this mean we can add a new number with 1 month plan and then cancel the line after the month is over and still unlock the phone in 6mo by using our old simcard? Do I have to activate the phone with the new number or can I just put my old simcard straight into the new phone?
