Dewalt has several models. Which one is the most free proof for home use? I think Atomic is the newest.

12V is the smallest and lightest.. The Atomic tools are sized like the 12V tools, only larger to take 20V batteries. XR is top of the line.

It's a shame that more people don't try the 12V line. They are great for precise work, or lots of work where the bigger, heavier 20V line gets tiring to use. And they have more power than expected. I think they'd be great for homeowners: powerful, small tools with thin, comfortable handles because they don't have batteries inside them like the Milwaukee or Bosch 12V lines. I have many XR tools, but always reach for the 12V tools first.

12V is a great line (I'd be happy with this if I didn't already have atomic and/or XR line) and this deal makes everything quite cheap. For reference, I was able to remove my lug nuts which are torqued to like 85 or 90 on the vehicles I tried it. You SHOULDN'T be using this for lug nuts, but that is just a good & easy reference of around the upper level of what the impact driver can do.

Yes, I did this like 2 weeks ago... Can ONLY be done in store.
Be sure to give me a like/thanks to offset the hack police (*facepalm*) that'll be here soon to thumb me down.

It depends exactly which tool you're getting.
I bought the $149 set & $179 ratchet.
Ratchet was $81.31 [179*149/(149+179)]
Impact kit was $67.69 [149*149/(149+179)]

I like the 12v impact for my tool bag and then i have a 20v impact in my tool box. I will say, there is less charging compatibility for 12v, power station and the 8A charger wont work with 12v.
