My new Pixel 9 is now carrier unlocked and OEM/bootloader unlocked.

The discussion with Mint customer service rep yesterday resulted in a trouble ticket being assigned to the "backend office". I was told I'd "receive an e-mail within 24-48 hours".

Late this morning (less than 24 hours after the ticket was issued) the new phone had a notification that the phone was carrier unlocked.

Under Developer Options the OEM unlocking was immediately selectable--I need this for installing the after-market ROM, but this bootloader unlocking is tied to the carrier unlocking.

Soon thereafter I received another notification: "No service" and "Selected network (Mint) unavailable". That may be due to the fact that I had previously deselected "Automatically select network" in settings. So I selected the "Choose network" option and then selected "Mint" (the only option since I hadn't changed Sims) and a few seconds later I was back in business.

I never received the e-mail from the backend office, but everything seems to be working.

To answer a couple other questions folks have asked: My understanding is that this is a permanent carrier unlocking. I believe I'd told the Mint customer service rep (Kylah) that I was going to be going on international travel (as the excuse for needing it carrier unlocked right away). I had paid for a year of service along with the phone. The fact that the service is already fully paid-for is one of the requirements you need to meet for them to unlock your phone right away. I ordered Tuesday of last week and received it via FedEx on Friday. I had used an eSim for the Mint service on this phone. I'm a brand new customer of Mint, but I don't think that should matter.

If I receive an e-mail from the backend office and it contributes any additional information I'll post a follow-up message.

I'd actually ported-in a burner phone number to this service. So after I load GrapheneOS, I'm going to switch numbers (port-in) so my new phone has my main phone number. Hopefully that will take less time and I'll get less of a run-around doing that.

Good luck!

That's amazing ! I just logged into my account and went to new phones and it showed it for $299!

Below is my order breakdown:

Nice!

Wasn't expecting to upgrade my phone but at this price its a no brainer for a better finger print sensor!

How do I get the phone for $299 as an existing customer? I don't see that option on their website...

Dumb question: does this phone unlock like most Mint phone plans (60-days is standard)
mine unlocked after 60 days got a message popped the mint sim to the other phone and been using ever since. Been this price since launch in mint, so this isn't new at all.

I only want the Pro to get access to the WB freq for car unlock. However, Pixel 9 FINALLY fixes the broken fingerprint unlock sensor so that's a big upgrade for me. I have the pixel 7 from the last Mint special and felt a downgrade from pixel 3 which had a much better fingerprint sensor.
I've got a Pixel 7 as well for my primary phone. Debating which newer Pixel to get for my second mobile.

60 days as usual! https://www.mintmobile.com/help/w...ck-policy/ [mintmobile.com]
Does it require the phone to be active on the line? like T-mobile's requirement of 40 days of phone usage on the network.

For the 2 months unlocked period requirement, does it need to get cellphone service for 2 months? I got almost 2 months left on mint mobile.
sounds like you bought the 7 pro deal last year Smilie

Wintergreen gone, Obsidian only available. Can we expect Mintmobile to restock? Or is it going to be Obsidian for me :'(

I'm considering it too, but my preference is to hold out for the Pixel 8 Pro offer which we should see in a month.
Yeah, I am hoping for the same.

How likely to see the 8 Pro deal like the 7 pro last year?

Holy cow! $300 before tax for Mint Mobile customers, amazing!
In for one upgrade on my Moto G Power 2021. Wow I was looking the last two weeks and this deal blew me away.
Anyone who lives in an area where t mobile works well, you should seriously consider mint mobile. I can't believe how much money I've saved the past 4 years by using Mint.
My wife is on the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

I read the policy link and I didn't see any word about using the service for 2 months. It only said that the phone needs to be activated on the Mint mobile network.

So $300 for the phone if you're fine with the 5GB plan for a year
No that's based on existing customers. That only means 5 is your existing plan. My existing plan is 15 gb.

That's only if you already had an unlimited plan as an existing customer. I had a 15 gb plan, so that's what it's still on. I'm just buying the phone to upgrade.
