You can buy the phone without the plan for $300.

My new Pixel 9 is now carrier unlocked and OEM/bootloader unlocked.

The discussion with Mint customer service rep yesterday resulted in a trouble ticket being assigned to the "backend office". I was told I'd "receive an e-mail within 24-48 hours".

Late this morning (less than 24 hours after the ticket was issued) the new phone had a notification that the phone was carrier unlocked.

Under Developer Options the OEM unlocking was immediately selectable--I need this for installing the after-market ROM, but this bootloader unlocking is tied to the carrier unlocking.

Soon thereafter I received another notification: "No service" and "Selected network (Mint) unavailable". That may be due to the fact that I had previously deselected "Automatically select network" in settings. So I selected the "Choose network" option and then selected "Mint" (the only option since I hadn't changed Sims) and a few seconds later I was back in business.

I never received the e-mail from the backend office, but everything seems to be working.

To answer a couple other questions folks have asked: My understanding is that this is a permanent carrier unlocking. I believe I'd told the Mint customer service rep (Kylah) that I was going to be going on international travel (as the excuse for needing it carrier unlocked right away). I had paid for a year of service along with the phone. The fact that the service is already fully paid-for is one of the requirements you need to meet for them to unlock your phone right away. I ordered Tuesday of last week and received it via FedEx on Friday. I had used an eSim for the Mint service on this phone. I'm a brand new customer of Mint, but I don't think that should matter.

If I receive an e-mail from the backend office and it contributes any additional information I'll post a follow-up message.

I'd actually ported-in a burner phone number to this service. So after I load GrapheneOS, I'm going to switch numbers (port-in) so my new phone has my main phone number. Hopefully that will take less time and I'll get less of a run-around doing that.

Good luck!

That's amazing ! I just logged into my account and went to new phones and it showed it for $299!

Below is my order breakdown:

Nice!

Wasn't expecting to upgrade my phone but at this price its a no brainer for a better finger print sensor!

I'm considering porting my main line over from Visiblr to Mint for a year. I don't use much data on it since I have a free unlimited data line on T-Mobile for my family.

Does anyone know if I can stick the Mint eSIM into my iPhone and put a $45 3 month Mint SIM card into the Pixel 9 to get it to unlock in 60 days?

did anyone get this to work with the 7 days free trial?
I just tried it. It doesn't work. You don't get an account with the trial.

I had the same situation and they told me I need to return the original order (and pay for shipping) to get a refund and then I can order it again.
They told me I couldn't even do that as cancelling would mean losing my number and you need to port one to take advantage of the promo. Super unfortunate timing.

Looks like they only have a 7 day return policy...

I'm on a grandfathered 2-line plan with Verizon. Is it possible for me to suspend 1 of the 2 lines with Verizon for couple of months, get a new number with Mint, buy the phone for 299$ and then unlock the phone and cancel plan after couple of months, and use the new phone on my original Verizon line? Thanks.

Yes - I am an existing customer and ordered on Monday, and received that message when I submitted. I got an email 24 hours later (yesterday) that they had received my order, and so I am assuming/hoping that it is going through.

It could be because I paid with PayPal, so maybe there are different checks on addresses? It doesn't help that the order doesn't show in the 'transaction history', but I remember that was also the case when I first signed up for Mint ... just the plan purchases show up.
And just got notice of shipment - on it's way shake head

I tried this approach and it worked. You can order the three month plan online with promo code "Freemonth" for 36$, however it may take 2-3 days if you order a physical sim, better option is buy it in Best Buy for $48 and activate it. Once you activate and login, then click on the pixel product link specified in several comments here. Now you would see just the phone for $299. For me it costed $299 plus $22tax plus $48 plan from Best Buy, I paid the $$321 with chase freedom using PayPal which gives 5% cashback and I paid the 3 month plan in Best Buy with gift card I bought for 7% discount from card cookie using my BofA rewards card which gives 3% for online. With all the cashback my net cost is $345. Good luck
Why didn't you purchase the same 3-month plan directly from Mint which only $30 and choose eSIM. Then activate it and log into Mint's website to purchase the phone at $300 instead of going through the loop via BestBuy at higher price ($45)?

I went the sim kit route. Target has the 20 gb 3 month plan for 30 dollars. Used a very old phone to setup and got a number issued by mint didn't port. Messed around on the website until I got it to recognize my account was logged in and it gave me the 299.99 price. The app wasn't working for me. Hopefully it ships!

It probably won't affect you but I will share with you anyway since you asked. The US version does not have the cellular bandwidth support of all 4g bands. The US version Pixel 9 (and other previous Pixels) is missing the Band39 for LTE and N79 for 5G to be specific. So it won't work for some carriers outside the US that uses primarily the Band39 and N79.

See version comparision below:
https://support.google.com/pixelp...y=%2Cpixel
Ooooh the pro is missing it too, I thought it had all. Why do they do that? It's annoying.

Some people have had luck with the app instead of the website.

Just got 2 of them as a current customer of Mint. So what is the process? Just stick the SIM into the new phone and we're good to go?

My order from this morning (9am EST) just got marked as shipped - have a FedEx 2 day tracking number, shipping from CA.

Now time to figure out how to get it unlocked. I guess the safest thing is to move my existing Mint esim to the Pixel, let it sit in a drawer for 60 days, then check to see if it's unlocked.

I am an existing customer and I don't see the Pixel 9 listed at all if I log in - either from the website or the app.

I was able to find it using the direct link that people have posted.
