Mint uses T Mobile. Mint is an MVNO
Yes that's true but they cost a lot less. But yes functionally now the distinction is getting thinner. I wish regulators would have jumped in a little further to stop the big postpaid carriers from buying all the prepaid ones. Straight talk Total wireless I think, mint. Probably others I'm forgetting maybe MetroPCS. I guess at least the Verizon ones was only done on the condition that they shrink their unlocking. So at least the concessive customer gets something out of that. But if they own all the prepaid carriers it's only a matter before they make the prepaid coverage worse to push people upwards.

Just got 2 of them as a current customer of Mint. So what is the process? Just stick the SIM into the new phone and we're good to go?
Yes that's how I've always done it. With mint I can literally swap my Sims frequently as I want. If I just feel like changing my phone for the day. There are some carriers that don't let you do this like TracFone but for the most part you can do that with any Sim that's not going to run into a carrier lock device.

Still no email or anything on my account. Just chatted with an agent who said it's still processing and could take 24 hours.

Given that others are getting shipping emails within a few hours, I'm not feeling confident about this.
I was in the same situation. Placed an order last night around 8pm & never received a confirmation email. I used PayPal to checkout & went into the app to find my Mint Mobile order number. Then went back to the Mint app & used Foxbot to check order status. It shows that my order was at Fed Ex ready for shipping.

Some people have had luck with the app instead of the website.
Or use this link after logging in - https://www.mintmobile.com/device...9/6810275/
Yeah all this fussing around and I'm just rethinking this for a second... If I just wait a year the pixel 9 will be available unlocked at this price And I will have to deal with any of this nonsense. Lol. It'll still get updated for 6 years. I don't need to buy a SIM card/plan or set up an account back up -- in the hopes of getting mint mobile to honor this as some people are getting their orders canceled. Or heck I could just get a Pixel 8 for $300 today and use any carrier I want.

a pixel 9 is not going to meaningfully improve my life. I don't even need a new phone and I catch myself going down this rabbit hole.

not to mention it's better for the environment to get a used phone.

sometimes I think capitalism is broken my brain

It's amazing how the sign of a good deal sometimes turns off my brain as a rational consumer. Pixel 9 is not going to meaningfully improve my life over my current hardware. Fact I prefer the ergonomics of the non-squared display anyways.

Just I see a deal like $300 for a Pixel 9... I guess that's what consumption-based economies due to a person. I mean that's not to say it's not a potentially great deal for people that genuinely do need a phone can't survive another year, or on mint anyways or whatever.

Lol. And Black Friday deals for that matter.
I'm upgrading from Moto Power G 2021 so I'm super excited for this deal.

I purchased a 3-month plan with eSIM ($30) then activated it online. Mint then assigned me a number. I used such number to login my account and ordered a Pixel 9 for $299.

Order confirmed with an Order Number, but it doesn't show on my account anywhere.
For those of you who placed an order, where can you see your order and its status? Please advise.

I'm in the same situation - ordered today, got an oderr number, but it's not on my account.

My order status says "No information is currently available." What does yours say?

FYI...(CA 95051) the whole thing came out to $532. Mint charges sales tax on the full amount and a "Recovery Fee".

I remember a similar deal last BF. It was only 'in stock' for a short period of time before going OOS and then back in briefly, yada yada. Never could snag one.
Last BF deal was a P7 Pro 128GB for $99 for the device and a $90 12mo 5gb plan. It went oos quickly during last BF but came back sporadically. I am typing on that P7Pro on the final month of service.

Same thing. I will wait since I don't need it for the moment.

I personally would still get the pixel 9 pro from Google. My 2c...

- $180 for 12 months unlimited by itself is a good deal. But 12 months is a long time to commit to without knowing how the budget network is going to be in your area.

- Tade in value difference - Google has been offering "enhanced trade in" every year for the past few. If the trend continues the difference in price between the 9 and 9 pro would be made up when it's time to trade the phone in the future. For example, the pixel 7 currently has a trade in value of $360 in the Google store but the 7 pro has a trade value of $540.

- 9 pro comes with a year of advanced Gemini (currently $20/month). Sure you can get this deal and pay for it out of pocket. But that'll bring the mint deal cost to $300 phone + $240 Gemini for a year. If you don't care for AI then ya this is not worth it.. but more people seems to be jumping on the AI bandwagon so this might be worth it if your planning on trying an AI service like chatGPT, Gemini, etc anyways.

- camera upgrade - this is big for me. The pixel 9 pro has an upgrade 42MP selfie cam that a lot of reviewers like. Just YouTube "pixel 9 pro selfie camera". I have the pixel 7 and the selfie cam is garbage... especially in low light. I would imagine it'll be the same for pixel 9. The telephoto lens is something I thought I wouldn't need when I purchased the 7 but I was wrong ... I find myself zooming in more (kids candid shots).
