For some reason, this took a little bit of work. I've had two previous accounts that I've been canceled, but I wouldn't give me the offer so I had to use an alternate email address and alternate credit card as well to get the offer to work.

The CEO just let slip on an earnings call that Disney makes more profit on the ad-supported version so the ad-free price was increased to drive people to the ad-supported version.

Anyone else's Disney + mega janky, ads crash the whole application 25% of the time, random crashes, extreme lag when navigating sometimes. Never had this issue with anything else on my shield. Absolute nightmare of a loop having it crash when an ad comes on, it forgets my place in the video and I have to watch another ad when I try to fast forward to where I was and hope it doesn't crash

I have two addresses I try and rotate. One has been dead a year, another is going to die next month, I canceled it already. It will not let me use either email account. The year old one, it says "Your Subscription
You are ineligible for one or more free trials and/or discounts
Please review your adjusted charges below

Disney Bundle Duo Basic
Already an ESPN+ Subscriber? Visit the Hulu Help Center for more information on existing subscriptions and related billing and cancelation issues.
$10.99/mo"
The one due to cancel out i Jan doesn't have the offer, and if I reactivate it it shows the bad pricing.

Do we need to actually delete the account somehow? I'd rather not keep burning through addresses and trying to keep track. Anyone have any luck with the address swap back and forth?

EDIT: Here's some answers from Hulu's page, apparently you cant delete and account then ever use it again. And reactivation does not seem to leave it in the status to get the deal. So it's perma burn these email accounts I guess unless someone figures out what they are talking about with "eligible returning subscribers." Which, means whatever they want it to mean I guess:

"If you wish to delete your account, contact us at Customer Support.

You can request from our contact page:
Select [Other] from the category on the page, and include the following information.

Your full name
The date of birth
E-mail address

*Your personal information will be deleted unless it is necessary to prevent abuse or required by law.
*After the account deletion, we cannot reinstate the information or the account itself.

Before the inquiry...
Please check the account status before getting in touch with us.

Hulu is an advance payment service - you can use the service until the last day of the billing cycle, even after the cancellation. We cannot delete your account if it has a remaining period. Please get in touch with us after the cancellation is complete.

For further details on the personal information, please refer to our privacy policy. "

EDIT: OK for the final contribution here I think, if you go to the disneyplus.com website with the old email you want to reuse, it seems to work. I didn't proceed to the end, I had already put another one in rotation. myDisney manages the login security it seems, but the crappy account policy problems seem to come from Hulu which isn't a surprise. Like I said their shows are good but their system is not so good. Good luck out there and post up any further findings!

That reminds me, for those that don't know, Hulu's accounting sucks with gift cards. They make you apply the card and don't show the remaining balance. You have to call them and they tell you. Like the exact opposite of most places that won't let you talk to a human, they force you to talk to a human to get a number they could just put on their account page.

If you go the gift card route, get small denominations. Like even the $25 ones are too big for the $.99 deal. Its not worth the hassle IMO. I won't make that mistake again.

Just sign-up for hulu for the 99 cents deal. I have signed up and input my cc number. I have been given a $50 hulu gift card, for the life of my, I just can't find where to enter the 16 digit to redeem the gift card for next month's payment. Appreciate any insight . Thank you!
See my comment above about GC and Hulu, you're entering a dark place. Google it on the internet, it's ridiculous. And $50, you won't get the balance back at the end next year when you do this again. I am not sure if they can take your funds if you don't use them. But there's some reason they do this terrible thing to people. It's a sunk cost at this point so maybe just go ahead and blow the GC on something but it may throw your timing off for the annual deal. I think I have 2x$25s left, and a spreadsheet I built to run out the charges myself.

EDIT: With the original sign up they want a credit card. So use a burner card. Once you have the account set up you can put either credit card, or gift card black hole described earlier.

Does anyone know if i can subscribe on another account and pause the subscription? I still have 3 months on another account.Update: I basically have to pay for one month, but it should be paused after
How were you able to pause ? According to the online HELP FAQ, there is supposed to be a button under Account to pause. However I only saw a 'cancel subscription' button, no pause. I chatted with online help and was told since this is a promotion, pause is not possible. The agent even said the usual button on her system was greyed out.

I have Amex Platinum with $20/mo streaming credit, so I did Hulu 0.99 plus Starz 0.99, and then through Disney did the no ads for 15.99. Total looks to be 20.40 so 40 cents a month to get no ads Disney plus Hulu and Starz. And I was able to go back to my original account so got all my old watch history back. Could have also signed up for the regular no ads Duo bundle through Hulu for 19.99 and still add Starz but would have been about $3 out of pocket, though would get Hulu with no ads.

Not seeing that option to redeem
Yeah, looks like most everything is gone on the redemption store now. I still had over 3K points to burn.

Not me, I can't stand ads breaking up what I'm watching.
then you simply have to pay a lot more. you can't expect to watch no ads and pay a buck or two. you can but you shouldn't.
the streaming services have to pay for the content from somewhere.

Is Disney Plus for 2.99 worth it? Do you get a lot of good movies and such? I don't watch a ton of Hulu. But will here and there. Would mainly be interested for the movies if they're good. Otherwise I think .99 basic is good enough for me.

Thanks for your reply. I hear you. Will hold off redeeming my gift card since it's going to $1.07 per month. Dont know what they will do with the remaining $38 dollar when I cancel at the end f 12 month. But not sure what t do with $50 hulu gift card. Maybe if I do add additional stuff that brings up the cost?

Be careful. I used a gift card 2 years ago & it changed the date of activation so my deal ended earlier than the 12 months. Also, once you add the card you cannot stop the payments or get refunded on what's unused. So essentially, unless you plan to have $50 worth of payments, you will lose being able to use the full amount. It's listed in the hulu terms of agreement for gift card use.
Appreciate your cautioning me!

It used to apply the whole balance to the account. Not just deduct from the card.
Thanks for the heads up!

Too many ads on the Disney stuff. If you wanna watch those Marvel, SW, and Disney movies, just pick an ad free sub for one month and binge. It's rather immersion breaking to watch the tentpole movies on Disney and be frequently interrupted by ads.
