I ordered these last time they hit front page. Run true to size, they are SUPER comfortable, but I can't speak on any hiking or traction talk because I have a bad knee.

When I say comfortable, I put all my other shoes (including my Nike Air's) away after putting these on and haven't looked back.

And when I say a bad knee, I mean it's getting replaced in three weeks bad.

I hiked a 14,000 ft peak. Trail was mostly dry and the shoes worked great. Muddy or snowy spots were just fine too - just needed to step carefully. No slippage. For more snow, you will need studs.

I have the extra wide version. Hiked in Colorado and it held up great. Very comfy.
How waterproof is it?

Are these sized like the 1000 mile boots (big), or are these closer to regular shoe size?

These are also sold at Walmart. People complain the soles are slippery.

So how does it handle steep dirt trails? (dry, muddy)

Outer shell if waterproof. But if you wade in like 6 inches of water, it will get wet because of seepage from the top.

Ok thanks for this info. Just was wanting something to cross the creek near a trail where I walk...which is not that deep. Think this might work!

How do these compare to Merrell Moab 3 mid? They were $65.45 two days ago on Amazon (sold by Zappos). I am relatively new to serious hiking and going to Mount Kailash in Tibet next year.

How waterproof are these.
I has some Waterproof Timberlands that I paid twice as much for and they were extremely uncomfortable and NOT waterproof at all.

How's the sizing on these hiking boots? Do they run true to size, or smaller/larger?
I am not sure about this model but my other Wolverine boots were roomy and I did not need to go a half size up like I have in the past with other boots.
